Rep Power: 0 | | | hello Obviously I am new to this forum so I am going to introduce myself. My name is Kristen, I am 26. I have three amazing children ages 8,3, and 1. I have struggled with my weight since my second child, I have been unable to manage keeping anything off. I had a tubal ligation about a year ago after having my son. I found out I was pregant last month and I lost the baby two weeks ago. Since having my tubal liagtion I have had some bad side effects and my OB/GYN things I need to have it reversed, but here is the kicker, the military will only do it if I am to standard weight meaning I cannot weigh more then 150 lbs, so I am now on the hardcore weightloss journey. My husband is about to be deplyed so I will be in this alone. I do not have any support where I am because the military likes to drop you off in the middle of places that you have never been so here I am. I have tried the LA weightloss, meridia a few years back which helped, then I got preganant and that stopped, I am now looking into the weight watchers. So, I need as much support as possible so I am going to give this a shot. |

Welcome to the WLF!
You definitely have a lot on your plate - I'm so sorry to hear about the miscarriage It's never easy at any stage and with your husband's soon deployment, support is a very, very important thing! I'm glad you found your way here!
The problem with any type of prescribed diet, IMO is exactly what happened to you - if you stop it, the weight comes back on. It seems to work just fine while you're on it, but if it's not something you can live with the rest of your life, then it's only a short term fix with long term negative results - since we tend to gain more in the long run.
You might consider counting calories for awhile, so you know what's going in - Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople or FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal both are resources for keeping track of calories, nutrition and fitness. Diet is the biggest factor for losing weight, moreso then exercise, and being a mom of 3 little ones, I doubt you have a lot of time on your hands - just remember to take it one day at a time...try to plan your meals - don't eat too little, you have to eat to lose and drink water.
You CAN do this |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Hi Kristen! I'm also new here..I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I am currently on Weight Watchers. It works. I know people make a big deal about having to manage your points and everything, but I sometimes do it while I'm sitting at the table eatting. Being on Weight Watchers is easy, but the biggest struggle for me is finding time to exercise. (But honestly, I haven't exercised but once this year and I've still lost weight.)
Enough with my talking :P I hope you can find the 'diet' best for you and lose the weight that you want/need to. |

Rep Power: 11 | | welcome, I'm sorry for your miscarriage. I used weight watchers and it really works. To me counting the points is no different than counting calories. Also, if it is physically possible for you, adapting an excercise program combined with weight trainning will not only help you lose the weight but also will help you maintain your weight loss once you reach your goal. A lot of people think they can just go back to eatting everything they want to after they reach their goal instead of eatting the "bad things" in moderation. Plus they usually stop excercising. Here you will find lots of info and tools for helping you find the plan that works for you. Good luck and don't forget to start a diary- it really helps. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
