hi everyone..just a simple Question

hi to all on the forum. I just have a simple question regarding weightloss because i havn't been able to find too much info about it on google..bear with me it may seem stupid.

once you've succesfully lost the desired amount of weight you set out to achieve, is it possible to maintain that weight without excercise and sticking to healthy eating habits?

It kind of agitates me because alot of people don't get much excercise and eat what they want yet still stay slim...am I doomed to keep excercising for the rest of my life to maintain a healthy weight?

i'll eagerly await any info and respoonse. thnx.

Your weight is controlled by energy balance. Either net energy (calorie) balance is at maintenance and you maintain weight, or it is below maintenance and you lose weight, or it is above maintenance and you gain weight.

Energy balance consists of the foods you eat, your activity, and your BMR.

There is a optimal way of controlling your weight through net energy balance, but to answer your question, YES, you can control your weight with only food.

thnx..one last question..

thnx for the response Steve. So i guess as long as i stick to my daily calorie intake...after calculating my BMR...at whichever point i decide to stop excercising, it is possible for me to maintain that weight with the right diet. happy to hear that

i would like to pose another question for anyone out there, I'm not sure if i should be making a new thread or not but I'll just post it here.

I mainly do cardio stuff, namely jogging on the treadmill everyday for 1 hour. I've read up on some sites that as you lose weight you have to add more intesity to your cardio to see steady losses. Would this apply to me? The thing is i did'nt slowly ween into the speed I'm at, I just started out at a fast pace. Will i see steady losses or will I be required to up the intensity to a sprint (which i don't particularly want to do ). Also is it possible to decrease the speed im at now to a brisk walk and still lose the same amount of weight if i do it for 2 hours?

I know these are newbyish questions lol
thnx for putting up with 'em.

I have been to my goal weight before and did it without excersize but this time I want a sculpted body, that said I don't think it is wise to stop excersizing. excersize should be part of your life. I know that I wouldn't want to live regreating eating candy or chips because it shows up on the scale. if I work out I am able to give myself small amounts of junk food and still look great. being skinny for me isn't enough this time. I want all over health and a great body to boot.

I checked to see if you started a journal. Really, it is my best tool. I have come to accept that I am going to have bad days. There is no getting around it.

The journal is grounding place. As long as I keep coming back and posting, then I haven't given up. And the support is great.
