I've been kind of lurking on the forums for awhile, but I figured it was about time to step out of the shadows. My name is Allison, I'm 20 years old and I'm a college student. I am overweight. It's a little hard for me to type that because for a long time, I've been the kind of girl who's been too ebulliant to care about physical appearance, but now that I'm faced with my future and careers/grad school, it's about time I started caring, so I'm here, looking for support and guidance, since this will be the first REAL attempt I've ever done at losing weight. I figure that a good starting point will be to seriously increase my water intake, right?

Drinking lots of water is a great way to start. Best part is that you have decided to start. Hopefully we will both be losing weight together. There is tons of support on here.

Welcome I know the feeling all too well about not caring about my outward appearance. You have made a great start by coming here and lots of us going through the same things so we can lean on each other, I wish I had known about this place when I first started, but I'm here now
