Help please!!!--New member needs nutrition and diet advice!!!

I am a 24 year old female who is 5'3" and weight is 140, size 10. I am married to a nutrition and fitness junky. I did his exercise plan that he made for me for one month and lost 0 lbs. So the next 4 days I have been eating everything and not doing anything because I'm so upset I didn't lose anything.

I have dieted off and on for 8 yrs and when I lose the weight, I feel like I should be able to eat what I want for a while since I haven't been able to. But then I don't stop and all the weight comes back on. I know thats not what to do. So I've tried eating very well through the week and eat what I want on weekends. So it's not like I'm depriving myself. But on the days I eat what I want, I eat all that I can because I did the Body for Life diet and you ate really good 6 days a week and 1 day you could eat what ever you wanted. He even said you could eat a whole pizza, anything. So now I binge. If I eat something bad, I binge the rest of the day cause I know I messed up and I'll start the next day.

I eat 1100-1400 Cal. of good foods, fruits and veg, good fats, fiber, protein and all that.

I do aerobics 3 days a week every other day and the other 3 days I lift. I do my own aerobics by doing jumping jacks, running in place, kicks, jump rope, and tae bo moves. I'm constantly moving. The other 3 days of weight lifting is 3 sets of 12 w/10 lb weights. in diff. exer. And 1 day of rest. And I've lost no weight. I am asking for advice for exer. and diet.

Also, what size and weight should I be at so I have an idea? Because when I do lose weight, I never think I am small enough, until I gain the weight back and see pics of myself and I think "I was looking good, why did I see a fat cow in the mirror?...." Please help me...

Here's a sample diet:
Breakfast - egg white sandwhich with 35 calorie wheat bread OR bowl of cereal. With one of those, I'll eat a fruit or fat free yogurt, or spoon full of peanut butter.

Lunch - Lean Cuisine meal with a fruit.

Dinner - 300-500 calorie dinner

Snack - fat free pudding with fat free cool whip or a fat free ice cream sandwich.

This is Monday thru Friday, and on weekends, I'll eat what I want.

welcome to the forums, you might want to read the thread at the top of the 'NewComers' forum which explains the basics to pretty much every diet.
Sounds like you have the right mind and attitude, though your calories may be a little on the low side.

Lucky you have a fitness nut in the household to help also! If you want a trainers opinion then check 'The Harsh Truth' threads out.

I have no idera what weight u should be really, i'm no good at knowing these things, but i have a friend who is 5'3 and is 142 poudns and she has a fantastic, very slim figure, she is a bit boyish shaped, but flat stomach slim legs and arms. I'm roughly about 140 pounds and 5'2 and look a good bit heavier, so i suppose it must depend on your build as well.

mabey i could help

In reply to the previous posts;
Your BMI is a mixture of your weight and height but you could have a very small figure and have a high BMI this is because of peoples builds and diets.I think the best way to slim down would be to do a diet you know u can achieve and build it up harder and harder.Your exercise regime seems very good but mabey you could cut the snack to something other then fat free as fat free things do also have different types of chemicals in.

gwal is a jewel in the rough
I would make some basic changes to your current plan.

First, if you really want to have a "binge" day, you should do just that...a day, not a weekend.

Second, to really boost your metabolism, you should eat more often. Think breakfast-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-snack. You should basically be eating something every 2-3 hours. For example, have your breakfast of eggs/toast or cereal, then have the yogurt a couple hours later. The first week you do that, you'll think, "This is crazy, I'm eating way too often. There's no way I'll lose weight." But what you'll do in the process is fool your body into knowing it's always got another meal coming soon, so the body has no need to conserve (ie, there's no need to store extra fat). Hence, your metabolism is kicked into gear, and will continue to metabolize as such, even on your "cheat day".

Also, I cannot emphasize enough the value of lots and lots of water (at least 100 oz per day). Even on your worst binge day, if you've drank lots of water, you've done something really good for yourself.
