oh, and to be clear. For every 10 points of rep you have, you have 1 point of rep power. So, if you had 100 rep points, every time you gave someone rep, you'd give them 10 (except mods and above ... we start a bit higher).

Rep Power: 10 | | | i mis-interpreted one of the options: "Can Hide Reputation from Others" ... i thought that meant that when you give someone rep points that you could do it anonymous ... what i think it means is that you can choose to not allow other people to see your own rep. |

Some people take a lot of time to write good posts, and its hard to show them appreciation with rep. |

and reputation can be given for more than just advice given -- it can also be given for support recieved, common sense approach to something, or the like... if the post was of value to you -for whatever reason -that's good enough for reputation

Rep Power: 14325 | | | Your green bar will grow and grow. I think as your rep grows, when you give points out, the receiver will get more than 1 and so on.
So if you have 100 rep points, you may be able to give someone 5 points on one rep. If you have the basic 10, then your rep is probably only worth 1 point.
