Can't lose weight

It feels like I just can't lose anymore weight.. I work out 6 days a week for an hour. I keep a journal of everything that I eat and calculate a caloric intake so that I should be losing a pound a week...however.. i remain at the same weight and still have some belly fat that I can't get rid of...are there any specific foods or excercises that I could be doing to get my flat stomach?

hi member this forum. i'm new in here .i just want to post about lose weight with eating cabbage here it's
Cabbage in all its varieties is a vegetable that requires more calories to digest than is contained within the food but there are other foods that
have that same capacity and most of them are going to be green, leafy vegetables such as kale. Foods such as this are said to have a low glycemic value.

There is a downside to the weight loss that can be achieved by consuming only foods that have a low glycemic value. It's temporary weight loss. As soon as you eat something that has more calories, your body would store them just in case. It's a defense mechanism for survival that has been programmed into our coding.

Anyway who wants to just eat cabbage every day or even just green, leafy vegetables for that matter? Even the most devout of vegans would require more in their diet. Healthy weight loss requires that you eat a balanced diet of a variety of foods that have calories. If your body determines that you are not getting the calories that it needs to function properly, it will store what it can to the detriment of what it determines is of least priority. You may not agree with its choices.

Typical diets that have been developed using the glycemic index do not restrict the eating of meat, but do not incorporate eating meat as a part of it. The diets do however; encourage the eating of fruits and vegetables "as many as you wish", with restrictions limited to potatoes, and foods made with white flour. Pasta is even acceptable due to its surprisingly low glycemic index value.

Food scientists who believe that the glycemic index can be useful in developing a safe and nutritional weight loss diet recommend the following:
Eat sparingly any low- or intermediate-GI foods. These are high in empty calories. Candy bars and cake are also low GI foods. Eat too much, and you'll crowd out essential nutrients and gain weight.

Hi all, I'm quite new in the forum but already learning a lot from this post. I have a question, probably any of you could help me out!

I've had the gastric balloon fitted two weeks ago. I'm woman, 30 years old, 1,70 m (in inches I believe it's 67). I was 97 kilos last year this time, I managed to lose 4 kilos suffering deprivation from sweeties, bread, etc. Before the fitting I weighted 93 kilos and so far I've lost 4,5 kilos (currently on 87,5 wow!!).

This weeks I'm not eating that much, firstly because of the balloon (which is intended to make you feel full so you dont overeat... and if you do, you know the consequences hehe) and secondly because that's the clue, to get used to small portions of food and change your habits. The nutritionist told me that my goal is to reach 67 kg more or less (I would prefer 65!) and lose a lot of % fat that looks like I have, therefore I should eat a lot of proteins during the 7 months I have the balloon in.

These two weeks I've just eaten soups, porridges and some solids (smoked ham, eggs, whole grain bread, a bit of butter for breakfasts, yogourths) but very small portions. My question is: will my metabolism start to slow its work and then the moment I eat more will gain all the weight I lost? Is it healthy to eat that much quantity of proteins?

I can start working out (mild, like walking, swimming, bike and so on) in other 2 weeks, to let my stomach get used to the new "guest", so will I make my metabolism work faster?

As you see, I'm a bit lost.... would appreciate if you could help me!

Many thanks!

Your totally right, but I would suggest the beginners to start by cutting 30% of their meals first and then start thinking about playing with the caloric needs. Also be smart, if you usually eat 2 hamburgers, don't eat 1 1/2. Your meal still need to have a good proportion of every group.

Thanks for the tips. The 6 small meals is a good tip because I do get hungry easily (or just think I'm hungry). I'm starting my weight loss journey and I know my weakness will be sweets and junk food. But I'm more motivated than ever!

As I knew a very useful information about savely weight lose .. Don't let your self hungry and feel you gonna lose weight that's very dangerous you know why??
your body doesn't know that there is a fridge 2 meters there !! and he will think that there is a starving time ( Your body was desinged 2.5 bilion years ago by God) and it is the same so far so he will react the same all the changes happend just around us ..
He will reduce your metabolic rate by 40% to slow burning chalorie and then transfer the most expensive tissue in you body intor sugar ( your muscle tissue) into your liver ..
your fats just will help to retain your vital heat and body functions.
after you stop starving your body will tend to store more fats to make a stock and you will gain more weight you know Why??
Because your LPL will be increased (Lipoprotien Lipase) that machine who is resposible to store fats.
And your ability to burn fats will be less you know why?
Becuase the machine who burns fats become less and smaller (Your Muscles ) oh my God its a big lose to starve..
Eat any thing but fibers and water like Carrot and lettuce and dink a benty of water to prevent constipation.
Wish you the best luck and save weight lose..

Good post. Only one thing - how is it possible to drink 1 1/2 gallons of water a day?! I consider myself as a ''good'' water drinker, averaging about 0.5 gallons (2 liters) a day, but 1 1/2 (~5.7 liters)? If I did that I would be like a lawn sprinkler, ''sprinkling'' every 20 to 30 minutes...
