Rep Power: 0 | | | How many calories to cut? I have a lot of weight to lose, right now i am 260lbs and i want to get down to about 150lbs. Should I figure out how many calories is takes to maintain this weight and cut 500 calories a day, or should i try to stick to about 1200-1500 calories a day?

Check the stickied thread i the nutritio forum for the link to the harris benedict formula and give yourself an approximate number of calories to shoot for...
but I'd probably suggest around 2200 or so for you to start with - it's a managable number that you can maintain long term.
How much are you exercising?
