When hubby and I had our BCA (Body composition analysis) I was told that my water retention level is 9.9% which is pretty bad. The guy who did our BCA had a masters in
nutrition and I think is undergrad degree was physical
fitness or something like that.
Well, he suggested that I should take a blue
green algae supplement (a specific brand) that he had to help eliminate toxins from my
body and allow my
body to use the water that is surrounding the toxins and
fat cells to deplete. He said that the toxins were what probably what was causing my water retention and eliminating those would allow for easier
fat loss and less cellulite etc.
Hubby and I decided not to purchase anything during the meeting as we knew nothing about blue
green algae and wanted to do some research and see if we could obtain it elsewhere cheaper. And we feel that we made a good decision. A few days later, we were doing research on the net and found that some blue
green algae that is being harvested dried and sold in pill format comes from a lake in Oregon (I believe) and that is "easily contaminated with toxins such as microcystins and heavy metals." (UC Berkelly Wellness Guide to Dietarey Supplements
UC Berkeley Wellness Guide to Dietary Supplements: Blue-Green Algae).
I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with other Blue
Green Algae supplements or if there are other ways to reduce the toxins and water retention levels.
Thanks in advance.
