Rep Power: 0 | | | Eat more or Eat Less ? Hello there, I have a question with regards to toning up the body.
I have been trying to tone up my body and have been lifting for the past 4 months, I did not notice anything improving vastly except for my pecs.
I am 65kg and 174cm and eat around 2000 Cals per day, do I need to eat more or less to tone up my body ? My BMR is 2490. The layer of fat on my stomach is humiliating and it hides the abs. |

bulking, or increasing muscle mass you can't do while you're eating fewer calories you need to eat more -but not just junk -you need to go about it sensibly... Fat is fat and muscle is muscle... one doesn't turn into the other...
How are you currently lifting? what's your routine? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Ah, I'm afraid that if I eat any less I would lose my muscle. Currently I'm concentrating on toning up my abs and pecs at the same time, the others can wait.
So how can I lose the fat on my stomach and build up the pecs muscle ? I've been consuming calories below my required intake and losing weight steadily but if I get any thinner I would look unhealthy. |

| Read that again and tell me if you realize the problem.
You want to lose fat and you want to gain muscle.
That's like me saying I want to drop out of school and become a meth addict and I want to be the CEO of a fortune 500 company.
Focus on one goal at a time. Quote: |

| So stop losing weight. |

You might be eating too much if you want to lose fat. If you want muscle definition, you're probably going to have to most of your fat first, then build muscle. |

I say eat more often and smaller meals with some protein. That will fuel the muscles and help the metabolism for fat loss. Also some green tea in the day will boost thermogenesis---- fat loss.
But keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so use the measuring like someone said here. Or you can go to one of those places that measures body fat ratios or something. |

Thanks for all the replies, I visited a nutritionist the other day and got myself a personal trainer for the gym, so there will be no more problems. |

If that's what you're looking... spam advice and advertising, this community is probably not the best choice for you.
This community is the way it is, which IMO is much better than most any out there relating to weight loss, b/c the moderators spend a great deal of time shielding from such spam. Quote: |
