Question Looking for a detox "diet"

Hi all, I'm basically new here.

I am looking for a detox diet. Not specifically to lose weight fast or anything like that. More a real detoxification. If it has weight loss benefits, that's great.

Googling this just gets me a ton of diet pills.

Does anyone know any that they like?

Thanks!

Why do you think you need a detox? and what benefits do you think they have?

Detox:
One whole bag of frozen brocolli followed up with a large black coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

It should be illegal in 50 states.

Well, Fruits, veggies, and water, will definitely clean you out..my mother-in-law and i did a sort of detox for 8 days, with fresh fruit juice, and veggies blended up...the idea is that when you drink these 100% natural liquids it gives your poor pancreas a rest, along with your other organs...because when your body processes food, it actually takes alot of work..so when you just give it a rest, it is believed that it will focus on removing all that toxins that have built up after years of horrible eating....it doesnt mean you have to take in a severely low amount of calories..you can get about 250 calories from just one banana, strawberry, mango blend up..and if you have four of those, plus about 2 cups of grapefruit juice which is about 100 cals per cup, then you can get around 1,200 cals.....by the 8th day our eyes were brighter, our complexion was better, we just felt better all together, you will definitely need a little more rest than usual...this is somthing i believe in..but to each their own ..

I'm just getting back on my diet after a two month "break" and I just wanted to start fresh, so to speak.

I have a whole foods approach to eating as it is (most definitely not perfect), but I am eliminating refined sugar, alcohol and most breads...my favorite things!

Was just interested in some ideas...thanks for the smoothie idea. I think I will do smoothies for breakfast and lunch this week!

hey!! there are a lot of detox diets out there... in fact i'm planning to start one myself on monday how about we do it together? and keep each other motivated while comparing notes at the end of each day?

the diet i found is primarily to remove toxins, and some people do experience a small amount of weight loss. i'll post the link here, let me know what you think

Thanks for posting surya. Right now I'm beyond where I can do a diet like that. I'm running and lifting and need the calories!

Thanks, though. Because I think I'll be taking a break soon and I would like something like this to try!

Good luck!
