this thread gave a bunch of ideas for under 200 calorie snacks.

anything can really be a snack - depending on what you are in the mood for...

you could use steve's method and just call them snacks rather than meals

I would have to say that fruits and veggies are the best way to go if you're looking for a low-cal snack.

Here are some of my favorites

- Crispy Mini's rice cakes (60kcal and 1.5g of fat per 8 pieces)
- Thinsations Cookies (100kcal and 3.5g of fat per package)
- Baked Doritos (220kcal and 6g of fat for 27 chips... yes you heard me right... 27 WHOLE chips!)
- cinnamon snap crackers (120kcal and 3g of fat for 4 crackers)

and of course the obvious fruits and veges.

hope this helps

Dried fruit

Dried fruit is fun to snack on.

Dried apple = 100 calories for 1/2 cup or 40 grams
Dried nectarines = 110 calories for 1 1/2 ounces (about 4 slices)or 40 grams
Dried cherries = 120 calories for 1/4 cup or 40 grams

wow - I thought I replied to this already. Sugar free jello is only 10 calories a serving - and can really cure a sweet tooth.

They're selling 100 calorie packs of popcorn now too that are amazing.

Low cal pudding also helps cure that sweet tooth.

I personally go for the pretzels. Nice crunch with some salt and not to bad in nutrition.

I have pre-measured (1 serving--140 cal) snack bags of trail mix (almonds, raisins, peanuts), cheese sticks, fruit, crackers with a tsp of peanut butter, etc. to have as a snack at work. My snacks are generally about 100-150 calories. I try to spread my calories out through the day.

As far as the snack versus meal issue goes...I suppose you could say that I have 3 small meals a day and 3 mini-meals.... no matter what ya call it, either way at the end of the day...its calories in, calories out....and did I eat healthy?

Beth

I like...

-Sugar free Jello pudding snacks (the dulce de leche is awesome!) 60 cal-
-FF cottage cheese 80 cal
-Light and Fit yogurt 60 cal
-Hummus 45 cal and Wasa crisps 30 cal each
-Strawberries
-Reduced Fat string cheese
-Almonds (just watch your serving size)
-Low-carb tortilla (90 cal) stuffed with salsa and black soy beans (lot of fiber)

I have to have snacks with protein otherwise they are not filling for me and I eat way too much. I can have a sting cheese and be find for a couple of hours but I could eat an entire BAG of chips and still be hungry.
