Ive been trying to figure out what would be healthier.
Trimmed , steamed , baked chicken wings.
chicken tenders coated in one egg, and two tbsp of cornstarch
then breaded in a mix of soy flour and panko bread crumbs.
On paper, it seems the chicken wings would be less calories if the fat from the skin was not included, but if the skin is trimmed, steamed, and backed, i think it might atually be healthier, and way less carbs.
Let me know your thoughts.I got a awesome low cal, low fat buffalo sauce recipe.
Chicken wings, or breaded chicken tenders? Post #2 (permalink)
I think if you remove the sking and bake the wings it sounds like that would be a better option.. the tenders sound yummier though
Yeah i trim the skin pretty good.Basicly giving the wings lipo suction..hehe.
But yeah the tenders are very yummy, especially with my special seasoning, and some low calorie bbq sauce, but when you want "buffalo" , nothing beats a wing. I wish i could find nutrition info on trimmed, steamed, baked chicken wings.Unfortunitly the closest i can find is some tyson grilled wings with some kinda seasonings.I forgot the nutrition info but i wasnt impressed. My guess was they were fake grilled.

note: texas pete is on the milder side, and has a unique flavor. If you like a hotter wing, substitute 1 TBSP of texas pete for something like franks redhot, or Louisiana hot sauce. You can also add more smart squeeze margarine if you like an even milder sauce. And you can also add more texas pete if you want a bolder flavor.
