You can have hard boiled eggs prepared ahead of time and just grab a couple out the fridge on your way out the door. I'm also a fan of oatmeal. What I do is cook several servings of steel cut oats ahead of time and microwave them in the morning with strawberries or blueberries. You can also make a protein shake fairly quickly with a couple of scoops of whey protein, water and frozen fruit in a magic bullet. Another quick breakfast is a tablespoon of peanut butter on whole grain bread.

Thanks u2. I didnt even think about those two things... Here I was thinking I had to cook more elaborate things each day!
So I went grocery shopping today and bought me some plain ole oatmeal in packets and will take it to work with me to have. I also got egggs and will boil those tonight and peel them for tomorrow. I will take out the yolk and stickk them in a ziplock baggy so I can grab and go.
Me and protien shakes dont fair too good but that could be because I havent found a good tasting one yet.

I love steel-cut oats, but they take a long time to cook. I honestly never thought of cooking them ahead of time. Do you store them in the refrigerator? How long do they last?

Yes, I keep them in the fridge for up to 5 days in sealed gladware - to be quite honest, they're gone well before 5 days usually, 'cause I'll snack on them or put a few tablespoons in a protein shake. They keep very well. I much prefer SCO over instant or rolled oats... I love the texture. When I make them, I use 1 and a half cups of oats, 6 cups of water, a teaspoon of vanilla and a couple of shakes of cinnamon (not the cinnamon that's mixed with sugar, straight cinnamon) and cook them for about 45 minutes to an hour. They're delicious with fruit!

I've never been much of a breakfast person but as I've been on my weight loss routine I have simply been making a sandwich bag full of 1 cup of dry cheerios and drinking 1 30 calorie can of V8 juice. I then wash it down with a full liter bottle of water. That way I get some breakfast in...

I'm another fan of SCO.. the bummer part is the cook time. I get up at 4am and have to be out the door by 5:10 and standing around cooking that isnt happening at that hour. I never thought of pre cooking them. Literally I eat it on average 5 times a week.
Another thing I do is make smoothies like crazy and they are totally filling. I do 1 cup of blackberries 1 banana and greek style yogurt and mix it in my majic bullet.

What exactly is the steel oats thing you guys talk about? Can you buy them at a regular grocery store?
Oh my I wish I could have sushi for breakfast! LOL However, that is not realistic in my world.
Thanks for the ideas. The eggs and oats were actually easy and tasty as I love them both. I will also definitely look into the greek yogurt as well. I also think I need to add some grapefruit from time to time.

SCO are not processed or rolled, it's the whole oat chopped up into nuggets. You can usually get them on any cereal aisle. Quaker makes them as well as several other companies.
