Rep Power: 0 | | | My diet is typically low in fats...the fats I eat are good fats. Here are some great, unprocessed or low processed choices:
Tuna
chicken and turkey breast
Fat free cottage cheese
brown rice
sweet potatoes
any fruits and veggies!
Barley
Whole wheat breads
egg whites (great with salsa)
shrimp
beans
lentils
Plain yogurt (great with sliced fruit in it)
Those are just a few ideas. Let mekow if I can help more.

Rep Power: 0 | | I tend to not really bother with low fat foods as i don't think they taste as good. I just buy the normal stuff but eat less of it (if i can )

I agree, you should do your best to avoid bad fats. But not the good stuff. |

Rep Power: 4 | | | Avoiding the bad fats like trans fats and saturated fats is definitely a good idea, but cutting out healthy fats like poly and mono unsaturated fats isn't!
Low-fat diets are supported often because fat contains a ton of calories/gram (and eating too much fat will raise your risk for heart disease/other health problems), so eating a lot of fat is going to bring your calorie total up very fast. However it's just as important to get healthy dietary fats as it is to get healthy carbs and proteins. If you have trouble remembering what's healthy and what isn't for fats, remember that unsaturated fats (healthy!) are liquid at room temperature, and saturated (unhealthy!) are solid at room temperature. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
