Rep Power: 0 | | | Not enough calories?? Hi,
I'm 5.4 and weigh 156.5 lb...
According to the calculator my BMR is around 1500 kcal. As I am not losing any weight eating more I'm gonna try it with 1500 kcal ...I got an office job so not much exercise..Although I cycle to work since 3 weeks...At the moment I do it 3 times a week (12 miles in total per day...quite hilly at times)..My diet looks like that:
Breakfast:
app. 2 ounces of porridge with semi-skimmed milk + 1 banana
Snack:
Mueslibar or Apple or other fruit
Lunch:
1 Jacket Potato (app. 10 ounces)+ Tuna (own style with low fat sour cream)
+ salad
Snack:
Mango or Apple with Yogurt
Dinner:
2 wholemeal Pittabread with Ham or Chicken Wrap
2-3 litres of water a day
I don't eat this every day but that's about it...I'm not really hungry..tried 1200 kcal before and was starving..but now I'm fine!!
If I am hungry I have 1600 kcal so I don't starve myself..Should I eat more though I'm not hungry? Don't have the impression that I would lose weight eating more as I tried it...

Rep Power: 4 | | Your diet seems ok to me, calorie-wise and content-wise. Obviously on days you don't exercise, you can't expect to lose weight unless you move a lot during other activities..cleaning, walking instead of using transports, etc...since you're eating your BMR.

Rep Power: 182 | | I don't see a problem at all with 1500 calories. Puts you at about 10 calories per pound of bodyweight which is good. |

I don't think our body works that straight forward anway...eg. I'm doing some exercise today and weigh 200 grams less tomorrow...But some people say I should rather eat around 1800 kcal but I can't imagine that I will lose any weight by doing this (weighed myself last night after 1 week and it was "only" half a pound less..which is ok as long as it doesn't go up :-) )
I would like to eat more grean vegetables but it makes me feel bloated :-(
Are there any alternatives? And which natural food has a high proteine content (apart from soya)? Don't like meat too much although I'm not a vegeterian. But I would like to eat more plant based proteines.. |

Rep Power: 4 | | I know that 1500 kcal would be if you didn't move at all. But you don't burn that much more sitting at a desk all day... What I meant is that, days I eat my BMR and don't exercise, walk to work, clean stuff but instead sit at my desk all day, I don't expect my calorie deficit to be significant so I tend to overlook it, or ignore it per say. I wouldn't say you use FAR more.. ^^; sorry to disapoint.
As for protein source, I quite like beans, lentils, etc... hummus, lentil soup, chili beans.. I don't eat much protein unfortunately. Not enough and I know it ! | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
