My new breakfast

Hi all,

I'm newcomer on this wonderful place on the Internet....

Anyways... I visited a nutritionist the other day and she suggested following breakfast to me:

Basically it's a mix of the following stuff:

Oat flakes
Barley flakes
Wheat flakes
Rye flakes
Seed flax
Integral corn flakes

So I take 3 soup spoons of this "high fiber mix" and put low fat yogurt in it. Leave it for 15 minutes and then eat it.

I am having this breakfast for the last 6 or 7 days and I like it...

I kinda want to eat something more pretty soon after I finish this breakfast

Has anyone tried something like this? What do you think about it?

Thanks,
Staci

"3 soup spoons" seems an awfully arbitrary measurement from a nutritionist. I dunno .. I'd question that.

I also am not big on "flakes" of anything. Processed food is pretty much a no-starter for me.

I'd say have a serving (1/4 cup) of steel cut oats with another 1/4 cup of yogurt on top for a good blend of complex carbs and protein.

it seems pretty low in calories. and is all carbs, a good portion of which are simple based carbs. (flakes of anything arent really healthy. way to simple usually like most processed foods) A good breakfast should have some protein in it. and ideally some fats as well.

i'm curious as to what the rest of your day looks like as well...... but ya, i'm with kara, this isn't an ideal breakfast imo. missing too many nutrients and calories..
