just my two cents but I think the only way you could have too much is if you were really limited on the calories. also if your a diabetic. Think fruit is a good thing overall
fruit has a lot of natural sugar in it - so just watch your dental hygiene after eating fruit... (my brother, years ago ended up with many cavities from his passion for peaches...
Eating fruit though healthy still are calories so if you consume more than you burn off you will gain weight. Eating more fruit and vegetables is an excellent habit to start but they still are calories. If you are just eating fruit in one sitting you are just consuming carbohydrates that is simple sugar whick you might feel hungry 30 minutes later. A tips is to mix some protein with your fruit to help slow down the digestion to keep you fuller for longer for better weight loss than ever before.

The point of eating more fruit is a substitute for what you would normally eat, hence the notion of losing weight if you eat lots of fruit. However, you can have too much of anything and it will be detrimental, so only eat what you need.
hi
I am on the Tony Fergusson Diet and my diet only allows 2 serves of friut a day, as fruit contributes to calories that need to be burned off. The diet allows unlimited vege's each day.. so maybe you should try finding a vegetable that you like as much as fruit? Carrots dipped in light cream cheese is a suggested snack on my diet, or grilled thick tomato slices are divine!
forgot to also metion... the diet allows UNLIMITED diet jelly (must be diet!) each day. It tastes just as good as the full-sugar jelly, and assists with sugar cravings. I know its not as nutritionally good as fruit, but maybe you should have your 2 serves of fruit a day, and top up the emptiness with the diet jelly?? anyway just a couple of suggestions for you
Some calories are good value! What I mean is that, nutrient dense foods like good fresh fruit has so much to offer your body in terms of health benefits, that they should almost not count. Ok, maybe thats taking it too far, calories are still calories - but in this case, they are calories well spent.
The 'authorities' here presently recommend that I should aim to eat five portions of fresh fruit and veg per day - and I think thats quite sensible (although what constitutes a 'portion' isnt always clear).
I was reading a website recently about Carbs and GI, and it was pointed out that some fruits had surprisingly high GI rates - but it was recommended that this was ignored, because of all of the other benefits of fruit.
Finally, on another fitness website, I saw the suggestion that snacking on fruit was always permissable - I like that idea. Can you eat too much fruit? I imagine so, I did read somewhere that too much fructose could somehow lead to excess body fat, but it was emphasised that it would consumption of a lot of fruit to do that.
