calories..

ah.. another question fr me.. i've been following a really silly diet before ( less than 800 kcal /day), and now i wanna revert to a healthier one with more sensible amount of calories. would this process of sudden increase in daily calorie make me fat? coz the body stores more energy or sth? if so what shall i do to prevent this?

You really should get on a higher cal. diet. I've heard 1200 is really the lowest you should go. I really don't think you'll gain weight, your body needs the calories, but lets say you do, its better in the long run. You can always loose the weight on a "better" diet and keep going..then to stay on a diet thats not so great, and end up giving up later. This isnt' gospel mind you, just my two cents...you have to live with your decision, so do what you think is best

Each safe VLCD has a specific program for transitioning from the VLCD portion to a normal calorie intake portion of the program. As you doctor for your specific program's plan for transitioning.

I would say don't go lower than 1200 calories per day. The reason dates back to our ancestors. If you go lower than 1200 our body will think that it is starving and start to hold on to the fat from whatever you eat. We want our body to release the fat and not switch to starvation mode. This is why when you have not eaten anything or few calories a day you begin to feel like everything you eat is adding on pounds (it is). The first thing the body will do is burn the carbs and then the protein and hold on to the fat as reserves.....it take longer to burn off the fat. So whatever you eat from then on will just revert to fat.....sorry to say, but that is what I have learned.
