Rep Power: 0 | | I have toast every morning (usually multigrain, but sometimes just plain white). I also try to have a piece of fruit, too, either apple or banana, but if I don't have any in the house, it's just toast and coffee (usually 2 cups). I know, I know...I shouldn't be drinking that much, but the first cup (and this is no excuse) usually doesn't get finished, and the second (which I take on the road to work) usually ends up cold before it gets finished. For the past 3 weekends, I find that we've been cooking up big breakfasts...eggs (1-2), toast (1), and either chicken/turkey bacon (1/4 lb) or pre-cooked ham with my coffee. I find with those breakfasts, I'm lazin' around all day, so this morning, I suggested just toast and coffee. So far, much better.
Any suggestions on caffeine cut-backs? |

Rep Power: 0 | | Breakfast times Ok i know that ur supposed to have breakfast in the hour when u get up to get ur metabolism working, but by "get up" does it mean wake up or get out of bed and actually stay up? Hm..heres an example...this morning i woke up at about 4am, went to the loo and got back into bed but i couldnt go back to sleep. So at 5am i was still in bed and i knew i wouldnt sleep so i thought id better have breakfast since id been up for an hour...but sometimes im up at 4 and dont have breakfast until 7, cause 4am seems a bit ridiculus to have breakfast and im only lying in bed...so how does it work? |

Rep Power: 0 | | quick breakfast? Hi all.....
I'm looking for healthy, quick breakfast options. I love cereal, but I know that some of them just aren't all that great for you. I have eaten FiberOne in the past, but when you put artificial sweetner on it, is it really any good for you?
When you only have 5-10 minutes for breakfast in the morning and that is supposed to be your most important meal of the day, how do you make it worth your time?
And, I'm not all about variety. I'm ok with eating the same thing every morning. I think it would actually be easier for me to stick with something when I know exactly what I will have to prepare and eat each day. I know, might sound boring to some, but I think that will work for me.
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate your input!
Thank you and stay cool!! |

Rep Power: 217 | | Ilike cereal, just not milk... so I will preportion out cereal in little ziplock bags and ic an take it to go with me if i am in a hurry... Cereal, I will usually try to pick a cereal with no less than 5 grams of fiber and under 200 calories in a serving- cinnamon is good too
Other breakfast things you can take:
Peanut butter and cinnamon (cinn has 18 calories and 4 grams of fiber in a tbs... so I try to use it) on a whole wheat tortilla... wrap it around a banana if you want and slice it up or eat as is.
Chop up some fruit in a single portion bag... do this either the night before or a couple of timesa week... and you're good... |

I didn't know cinnamon has fiber in it!! Wow, that tortilla idea sounds so yummy! I haven't eaten yet this morning and now, thanks - - - my tummy just growled at ya!
Thank you for those ideas! |

Rep Power: 217 | | when you get the tortillas - check calorie counts - some tortillas are obscenely high in calories -- Cedars makes a low carb tortilla whole wheat, that has like 5 grams of fiber and it's only 80 calories - and tastes great too.. |

Rep Power: 0 | | I commute an hour each way to work, so I have to get up really early. If I eat my entire breakfast at 6am, I'm starving by mid-morning, so what I have found works well is to eat a banana on the way to work, then around 8am I eat a bowl of Lower Sugar Quaker Oatmeal. I know that the instant stuff isn't as good for you as the regular, but I really like the convenience and taste. Then mid-morning I have a 100 calorie snack of Reduced Fat Cheez-Its (not the prepackaged ones-- I count out my own 22 crackers and put them in a snack bag, lol). |

Rep Power: 0 | | Try eating something high protien/fiber. It will boost your energy and stop you from getting hungry an hour later. I love Kashi cereals. There are a bunch of different kinds and they taste amazing! They are sweet enough and it just feels good to be eating something so tasty that is good for you I'd also try to have some fruit, a banana or apple perhaps. If you prefer melons, try cutting them up the night before so you have them ready to go.
If I'm on the run I grab a baggie of unsalted nuts, usually almonds or walnuts. They are a bit high in calories but they are great for you and you'll feel great for hours! |

Rep Power: 0 | | For me, I mix a 2 egg equivalent of Egg Beaters (60ml), microwave it for 45 seconds, and put on toasted Weight Watchers bread with a slice of tomato and some black pepper.
About 160 calories, no cholesterol, fat, TF or anything really. Tastes fantastic too! You could always add a 15 calorie helping of ketchup to it too for those weird people that like ketchup on eggs.
Also, I like making Egg Beater omelettes. If you have a good non stick pan, they come out fantastic. Just mix up a 3 or 4 egg equivalent, spray some pam in the pan, fry it, flip it, add some tomatoe and onion inside (or even a light cheese) and serve with 2 slices Weight Watchers bread.

Rep Power: 0 | | | When I want a snack I usally crave carbs but Im trying to tone that down a little so instead Ive been making smoothies. My favorite is papaya smoothies. you take frozen papayas, lowfat milk and a packet or two of splenda and blend it up and its soo0o0o0o good. tastes like ice cream...yummy!! you can also add some raw almonds and wheat germ for an extra healthy kick!! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
