My only reason to reply the way that I did was the simple fact that I did not appreciate the way she called out my persona. I spend a great deal of time helping people on here, who is she to say ANYTHING? That said, freedom of speech is a beautiful thing, so no harm done. Just be prepared for the same level of respect in return.
Regarding her comment about fruit. Too much of anything will make you fat. Sugar does not make you fat. Energy makes you fat.
Fructose is the sugar found in fruit. There are some differences between how this form of carbohydrate is utilized by the body when compared to other forms of carbohydrates. However, when you look at the nuts and bolts, this form of sugar is no worse for you than others.
I my experience, and based on some research, you could get away with eating 5 pieces of fruit per day. Most people who I know, don't consume anywhere near this level of fruit each and every day.
The problem with statements like hers is simple. Most people are trying to sift through all the bogus info out there as is. When she says things like fruits make you fat.... all it takes is just one person to limit their fruit intake and become deficient in the abundant nutrients and health benefits that fruits provide to make me mad.
I did not even go into the benefits of having fruit in your diet while in a caloric deficit. No need to. Just wanted to clarify why I "behaved" the way I did.
