any maths boffins here???

email sent to me today...
how does this work?? & why only this yr??? or is it really really simple to work out & its just my brains turned to blancmange?? probably...

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 . If you haven't, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS. Chocolate Calculator.

Breaking this kinda thing down is so fun to me! >D

Here's the equation:

x=Chocolates chosen
y=If you didn't have your birthday his year, 1. If you did, 0
z=Birth year

Steps:

1. x
2. 2x
3. 2x+5
4. (2x+5)*50
5. (2x+5)*50+1759-y
6. (2x+5)*50+1759-y-z

Now let's reduce step 6:

(2x+5)*50+1759-y-z
100x+250+1759-y-z
100x+2009-y-z (Hmmm, 2009? Look familar?)

Now, if we take the "chocolates" out of the equation, we've got:

2009-y-z

Your age right now, this year. If we wanted, we could just say:

c = current year

c-y-z = Your age.

(God, I love math way too much. <3 *goes off to have an affair with it*)

PS: I'm extremely sorry for being a kill-joy!!! I just love math puzzles too much!

Who is your all-time Hero?

YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!!
WILL TAKE 1 MINUTE!!

Use this test to predict your all time hero. Make sure you try it without looking at the answers.

Let me know who you get!

Pick a number between 1-9.
Then x 3
Then + 3
Then x 3 again.

You end up with 2 digits.

Add the 2 digits together to find out your all time hero from the list below:
