Rep Power: 7 | | Fantastic! Let me introduce myself, I'm getting married in October and I want to wear a size 6 dress that I have selected. It's the Jenny Packham Lola dress and it's incredible. it's a ballerina style, but with a very bottom heavy skirt. I will look ridiculous in it at the present but I am determined. I started at 190lbs but my goal is 130. I have put on a lot of weight in the past 2 years and I want to lose it all again.
I have a diet plan/exercise regime that I have just started and it's going ok. But Thursday morning I decided to do the Master Cleanser first to "start from a clean slate" and also have the added bonus of a rapid initial weight loss. I know this is temporary, but seeing some fast results will make me feel more confident and able to follow a sensible diet. I lost 5lbs before I tried the fast, but I have already lost another 5 since Thursday. That's only 3 days. I am on day 3 of the fast and it's very difficult. All I want to do is go have a steak, but I'm determined to get through this and clean out my system first. I know about the added energy benefits and also healthir skin and such, so I will sick to my guns! It is hard though. Apparantly it gets easier on day 4.
In any case, I'm dying for my love handles and flabby arms to go away. Not to mention my beer gut! LOL I look good for my age (36) but I want to be a size 6 again on the day and look amazing in this dress.
When I met my fiancé 2 Junes ago, I was 145lbs. I won't be able to see him until this June(he lives in the UK where we will be married.) I want him to see a remarkable difference that reminds him of the day we met.
I would love to talk to other brides about theor experiences, ideas, tips, or just some good 'ol giddy wedding talk! |

Rep Power: 5 | | | Hey! nice to hear about another bride to be! I am getting married next May (08) and thats one of the many reasons I am trying to get back to my old weight. I won't even go into the dress store untill I'm at the weight I want to be.. so I gave myself untill August 17th... which is when me and my girls are going to pick out the attire for the wedding. So far I have lost 6.6 lbs and feel great this week I am going to shake it up a bit to challenge defferent muscles.. I think I am getting to used to these exercises. Also trying to tweak the eating habits but so far so good.

So far I guess it's just us two here!!! Congratulations on your wedding! I wanted to do the same thing...wait until I was a little smaller to even think about a dress...but then I fell in love with this one. The master cleanser was great and after like 3-4 days of getting I was not hungry or weak, I had tons of energy. My complexion got really bad...but then it cleared up and now it looks amazing...probably from all the water. I had solid food today for the first time in 10 days. YAY! I now weigh 173...12lbs less than I did 10 days ago which is nice. I'm a full dress size smaller than before and it felt good to show up to Easter in something feminine and pretty! I'm 5'9" so the weight is evenly distributed, but I'm still shooting for 130.
I have been walking for an hour a day, and 4 classes a week, either yoga or salsa or some other dance class.
Now I'm really kicking a strict diet into gear, I had a nutritionist plan one out for me. 43 lbs to go!!! |

So.. weigh in day is 3 days away and I just hope I can loose that one pound. I went grocery shopping today and stocked up on nothing but great foods so I should do great this week. so anyway hope you have lots of luck in your weight loss..

Rep Power: 7 | | | You got off easy! I'm not sure how it happened, but I gained 3 POUNDS from Easter dinner. All that abstinence for 10 days and then one meal throws me off! LOL! But what a drag we both have to deal with it. I am grocery shopping today as well so I will follow your example! What kind of dress do you think you waqnt to wear? |

Rep Power: 5 | | | Hey girl, hope you had a good day.. eating and all. I did alright. Had a couple little pieces of easter choc. but overall I did good. I have had a headache all day. I went last april to look at dresses with my friend and I couldnt believe how awesome all of the were but I took pics and didnt like how i looked at all.. so I havent even thought about it again.. untill I get down to my wanted weight between 115-123. It kinda seems impossible for me to get down to 115 so I will be happy with 123. Anyway.. I invited all the girls to go out on August 17th to get my dress and their dresses so.. I have untill then. And then to keep it off hopefully forever! I'll post my pics soon. I have 3 pics i took on March 21 and then I will do a 1 month update and see what changes I have made.. I cant wait! I have lost 7 pounds and my goal for one month was 10 so hopefully I can get down 3 more pounds within the next 10 days. Have a nice night! How far along are you planned out with the wedding I am waiting untill may to start calling venues and such

Rep Power: 8 | | Hey Girls! I'm getting married in October (fast approaching) and am just looking for some weight loss supporters Looks like this is a good thread. Lola, I think I replied to one of your other posts. I have a HARD time staying on track and often say (after eating junky food like wings) TOMORROW I'll start fresh...I'm at 170 now and would like to get to 160, and would LOVE to get to 155-150, but am taking it slow.

Rep Power: 7 | | Hi Sunshine!! When is your date? Mine is October 6th. We are nearly neck and neck. I am at 182 now....I had a very comical (but sad) scale snafu that you might enjoy reading about in my diary. I thought I was 6 lbs lighter until today!
I have all the major plans in order, we have been sorting out since July. We just booked the musicians this week and tomorrow I go and order my dress! YAY! I will try on the sample again but I know it won't fit me as it's a 10 or a 12 and they run very small. I will try to take some pictures.
Yogabooty..why does it seem impossible to have those final 8lbs off? I think you can do it no prob. 115 is a nice round number. How tall are you? I was 115 when I graduated high school...but I was WAY too skinny then..well...not if I was a super model..I was a model then and it seemed cool at the time, but I don't need to be THAT waif-like ever again. I'll be satisfied with 130.
You have 15lbs to go...and you have 4 months before you'll be standing in dresses. This is TOTALLY achievable! You can certainly do it.
Me...over 50lbs by October. I HAVE to average nearly 3lbs a week. No exceptions. No sliding. No "grace periods." This is boot camp and I need to kick it into high gear now. Oh dear....... |

Rep Power: 7 | | | I had a couple of pieces of chocolate too. Can't be helped. Thanks for the compliments! I think the darker hair makes my face look thinner for starters. maybe that's just wishful thinking, but it's far less attention grabbing and that's what I'm after right now! LOL! |

Rep Power: 8 | | | Hello my fellow brides!
I’m so happy to have been introduced to a forum specifically for women in our position who are stressing about fitting into our wedding gowns! First of all, my name is Becky and I'm a bride being married on October 7, 2007 [one day after Lolabride]! Crazy coincidences!
Anyhow, like many of you, I too am on the rollercoaster ride of attempting to diminish my body shape in order to experience satisfaction with my very expensive wedding photos! You can read ‘my story’ of my struggle with my weight and eating disorder under my thread ‘Eradicating the fear’, if you want a bit of my background. Otherwise, we’ll skip the history of how I got here and simply state the facts.
I’ve been struggling with my weight my entire life and have been fighting an eating disorder since I was 15. I recently began seeking therapy but I question its effectiveness as the selected therapist is frankly, an asshole. Anyhow, I’ve tried almost every diet that exists-Weight watchers, south beach, LA weight loss, atkins, ediets, nutrisystem, you on a diet [the list is ceaseless] and after all of this time, have still not found something I could stick to. So, I have essentially formulating my own eating plan in correspondence with counting calories and following the fiber rules of the Fiber35diet. I am doing a two day detox starting tomorrow and will then begin this new eating plan Saturday so I will keep you posted on its effectiveness.
I came home from England [where I completed my MA this year and where my fiancé lives] in September weighing 174 at 5’7”. My weight skyrocketed this summer as I struggled to complete my MA thesis, while also attempting to cope with leaving my fiancé [As an FYI, he’s the man of my dreams- he’s Welsh and we’re getting married in a castle in Wales!]. So, I came home with the intention of definitely toning up. I have been a devoted gym-goer since I was 16 so I was psyched to begin going again. I have rotated between routines over the past few months and have only recently found something I really like [Buff brides workout]. I lost ten pounds by simply cutting out refined sugars and refined carbs [not all sugars or carbs- basically avoiding these so-called poisons and only eating wholegrain bread rather than diet bread, etc.]. This is a fairly simple way to get the first bit off... Basically, if you goggle ‘refined sugars and refined carbs’, you will find the ingredients these refer to- you will be SHOCKED by how much you are eating [big culprits are diet foods such as diet breads, lean cuisines, etc.] that has these poisons in them! Any food that has these listed as one of the first five ingredients, I try to limit or avoid entirely. This is a really easy way to get off the first few pounds and also salvage your health! Not eating the refined sugar gives you so much more energy!
Now I am beginning the Fiber35 Diet this week to shed the final 15- its actually a really interesting eating plan- the first phase lasts 2 weeks to a month and guarantees quicker results. Basically, you have a bigger caloric deficit for this period of time to shed the most fat and then go into phase two where your caloric intake is slightly increased and you can eat a bit more to shed off the additional pounds. It all focuses on consuming at least 35 grams of fiber each day, which keeps you full. If you're interested, I'd be happy to provide more information from one bride to another! Just let me know
Also, I've been doing the Buff Brides Workout to tone up- its really fabulous and only $14.99 for the book on Amazon. There are home dvds also, but I find that my results are more effective if I utilize the gym! I could certainly list all of the exercises but its better to buy the book so you have the visuals.
Your wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of your life and we are not supposed to be stressing every day leading up to this big day. So remember that despite the fact that you're not the size you were years ago, there's no point killing yourself to get the weight off if its just going to come back on once you start eating differently.
I had my wedding dress sized last month and had to have major alterations as I had lost inches in my waist and bust- I have another in two weeks time so I’m going to be working my tail off to be sure I can fit into the dress still. I look forwarding to speaking with all of you about your weight loss journey and your weddings! I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!!!! Xo Bec xo
