ever woke up and felt so hungy....

you felt like you might eat the entire contents of the fridge?

why does that happen?

seriously - why?

what do you do when it does happen?

I'd guess it happens if you didn't eat sufficiently the day before. Also following the old 'don't eat after 6 pm' rule could cause it. I was up till 3 am last night - if I hadn't eaten after 6, I'd have been starving in the morning!

I usually have a cup of coffee first, then have my usual breakfast, and that solves the problem for me.

That happened to me when I first started. I was used to eating so much more everyday and I would wake up starving. Eat a healthy breakfast full of wholegrains. That should help.

I wonder if the high sugar snack before bed was the cause? I know that if I eat fruit or simple carbs at night I wake up hungry the next morning.

Everyone is different ... but maybe next time try something like a whole grain or a bit of protein for a snack.

Why does that happen? Umm, alcohol? That usually does the trick for me. If I drink, I feel like I could eat a silo full of breakfast cereal in the morning. But, I also feel like I could fill that same silo with the contents of my lower intestine. Seriously, beer poops are the worst. But, that has nothing to do with the topic of conversation here. I mean, yeah...it's funny and, for some reason, quite interesting and hard to ignore, but it has nothing to do with hunger pains. Well, sort of. Eh...no, no...not really.

Umm, but to answer your question...I don't know. Glad I could help?

Okay, when I first read this I read it as "hunger penis".

Normally I would think that was pretty odd, but it is Chef posting, so, you know, you can see why I might think that was what he wrote...

I felt like this today. I've eaten like such a fat pig. I wasn't hungry when i went to bed last night. Sometimes my hormones affect how i eat.

i try not to eat after 8, but that's when i was going to bed around 11. since i've been going to bed at like 2 am, i've been eating dinner at 9, then nothing afterwards except for a glass of water or wine. i always wake up hungry...actually, the fact that i am hungry is the reason i wake up. who knows. it doesn't matter if i eat the entire fridge before bed, i wake up hungry. i think it's my body saying "wake up, asshole, eat breakfast and start your day." don't eat everything though, drink some water, have some breakfast...water always fills me up.
