How do you make your Tuna Fish Sammies?

This should turn out to be an interesting thread! {I hope} lol

Stacy's:

I make a huge batch so we can have it as sammies/spread on triscuits/stuffed in WW pita pockets, etc.

2 - 12 oz. StarKist Tuna Pouches {In Water}

8 hard boiled eggs - rough chopped

1/2 of a big yellow onion - diced

half a jar of dill pickle spears - diced

4-5 heaping TBS. of Light Miracle Whip

Squirt of brown spicey mustard

To taste: Salt- Pepper- Celery salt

In a large bowl;

Chop/Flake tuna well. {I use a fork and a spoon}
Season lightly with spices.
Add half of the onions, eggs, and pickles.

Mix around and combine well.

Add the rest of onions, eggs, and pickles.

Mix around and combine well.

Add in 2 Heaping Tbs. mayo and squirt the mustard on top of mayo.
Blend well and then start mixing in well w/tuna fish.

*Taste Test* At this point I add more of each seasoning and enough mayo until creamy and it tastes how we like it.

150 Cals for 2 heaping Tbs.

{I spread on MG-WW Bread} *The cals are for tuna only, not the bread.*

miracle whip is NOT mayo - it's a dressing and is revolting... no self respecting northern would allow it i n their house mayo is just bland fine in tuna i suppose...

there's a huge difference between the two...

My tuna I mix with wasabi and sour cream... with some celery... or chopped tomatoes.

I might try that this weekend, thanks.

Usually I make variations of this recipe.

1 (6 ounce) can tuna in water, drained
1 1/2 tablespoons celery, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fat free mayonnaise
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onions, minced
salt and pepper to taste, I use garlic flavored salt substitute

The base for all tuna salads for me is tuna, onion, celery and mayo, from there I expand. Sometimes I make it with a little chives and jalapeno instead of curry.

Ok I'll chime in again. I didn't try the recipe but I did find a very good tuna salad recipe on recipezaar. This has a twist on the standard everyday tuna salad since it uses Russian salad dressing and pecans. Using 2 12 oz cans of Bumblebee albacore in water made enough for lunch all week.

Tea Room Tuna Salad

24 oz tuna in water
1/4 cup fat free mayo
3/4 cup fat free ranch salad dressing
4 big stalks celery, diced, more or less to preference
1 bunch chopped green onion
1.5 cups crushed pecans

According to recipezaar using those measurements yielded 8 servings. I added up all the calories for the entire salad and figured it to be 320 cal per cup sized serving. It seems like a lot of dressing but it isn't runny and the fat free ranch only adds 300 cal to the entire salad, and it makes a bunch.

Simple as it is the taste was great, I assumed it would be since 30 reviewers gave it 5 stars on recipezaar. I had it for lunch with a Thai cucumber side salad and it was very good.

Apparently my mother isn't a self-respecting Northerner, bc she hates mayo and will only eat MW. lol Myself, I much prefer mayo.

Last night I was lazy. My tuna sango consisted of tuna and horseradish mustard..lol.
