Rep Power: 8 | | | Cooking with "unprocessed" food??? Does anyone have ANY recipes for whole, unprocessed foods? I am a pretty lame cook...ok, I SUCK at it. Due to health reasons and maybe being a bit of a hypocondriac, I want to start cooking and eating ONLY whole, unprocessed foods, that are as close to their original form as possible. Does anyone have any recipes, or ideas that might help? Thanks in advance |

Rep Power: 217 | | | i tend to cool pretty plainly but with flavor - I'm abig fan of spices -and will make my own spice rubs for use on broiled or baked chicken breasts...
Plain roasted veggies I also like -with some garlic and olive oil (I used to use parmesan cheese and still do sparingly but aged cheese sometimes cause headaches for me
Balsamic vinegar is something else I use a lot of but i can only use stuff that's not been aged in oak barrels (the oak causes headaches in me)
Lemon juice, lime juice, and orange juice add a lot of flavor to grilled fishes and chicken breast... |

It's pasteurized, which destroys alot of nutrients, and the synthetic vitamin D that is added is considered a poison to the liver. Oh, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I don't want to repeat, so read this: Don't drink your milk |

Rep Power: 0 | | | unprocessed foods Doctor said that processed foods means any food that requires more than 3 steps to make it edible. For example, grains go through multiple steps to become bread or pasta, so they are off limits. We found that the easiest way to stick to this diet is to eat only fresh or (previously) frozen fruit, vegetables and meat. This diet sucks when traveling, so we can’t stick to it all the time. We just microwave frozen veggies – don’t add anything to them, like butter! The most difficult thing for me is avoiding pasta, bread and cheese! We eat rice instead of pasta, and once in a while have baked or broiled potatoes. You might try incorporating these practices into your diet for a while. You will be surprised how much it helps!
Cooking a food counts as one step, which sucks sometimes. The really good foods for me are out of the question – mashed potatoes, cheese, ice cream, pasta…. |

I eat mostly unprocessed foods, and a lot of raw stuff. It is actually easier to cook this way, and it all tastes great. |

Rep Power: 8 | | | Hey guys...just an update, I've found the Ziploc steam bags to be WONDERFUL for this process too. You can even put in frozen fish fillets and chicken breasts and they're done in minutes. And they taste wonderful! | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
