Hi Lesley I am sorry you are feeling poorly I was told to keep of anything with skin also I kept well ay from salad but being a clever clogsI decided to have some curry ,slept very well but did not feel so good this morning been and bad indigestion do not think I will be eating much today. It is 7 weeks since I had my balloon and I have not put on any weight so as long as you are carefull there seems little chance that you will,Icannot see how you can on the small amount so do not worry,I hope you are feeling better today only another 5 months left to go all the best from dumplingx

Take some vitamins and I drank something called Rehydrate! You need a supplement if you aren't eating enough just yet. I was sick for almost 2 months, puking every day! It's so important and it will help you a lot.

I take a vitamin called Staminogro every night. First night I had them, I never puked again.

I felt so bad that the portion size was terribly small. I thought I was starving to death. I couldn't even keep water down. I even had to drink some nutritional meal replacement shakes, and even those came up. I eat normal portions now - just very healthy.

It's such a huge problem to have things like this done, and then feel so alone as if there is no one to talk to etc. The surgeon wheeled me into theatre and said "life will be as normal after this" and it was nothing close to normal after! And they were of no help whatsoever. I found a dietician who has helped a lot- she gave me a post-operative diet aimed for balloon insertion.

If anyone needs some help I will scan it and send it. Having no information and support is the worst feeling in the world. I am still worried and scared but am losing weight now, with a good diet. Still feel alone.

PM me if needed. I check these forums every once in a while.

I wish you well.

Hi guys I had my balloon put in 5 days ago in Prague starting to feel a little better still the odd stomach cramp,a little nausea in the evening but alot of indigestion but am taking my vitamins and medicines so fingers crossed the symptoms go soon.
I tried to do the shopping yesterday but could'nt stomach the smells in Asda so only got 3 things before I had to leave. I cannot bring myself to cook anything yet living on yoghurts and fruit.
PcosZA I was wondering if you could send me a copy of the diet you have as I did not get any specific details.
Well guys I get weighed on Tuesday for the first time following the balloon I started at 90 kgs fingers crossed I have lost something.

What to eat???

Hi there,
I am really struggling to keep much down. My job involves a lot of eating out so I am often sick - usually at least once a day. Weight loss about 17lbs, so no complaints there, and I guess the acid test is, would I do it again, and the answer is yes.
I could probably only keep down cereal, soup and really tiny portions of food and even then, I am sometimes sick. I do get stomach cramps and I cannot work out if this is just because I am hungry!!
I always joked that I was half bulimic (ate loads but never threw up) and now I am the other half (eat hardly anything and throw up loads!!!!) just can't seem to get it right....
I have my second appt with my consultant tomorrow so I will see what he says. A few posts seem to suggest that there is a decent diet around and I keep meaning to ask the lady to send it to me. Have you got it by any chance?
Anyway, will let you know what my doctor says when I see him tomorrow.
Take care
Julie

Hi Lesley,

I have had by ballon in for 6 month now, have lost 3 stone and now fit in a size 12! (havent done that since I was 9 years old!). I also have to chuck up occasionally. If I eat too much or the wrong thing (rice doesnt sit easy for some reason) a couple of hours later you can still feel it heavy on you stomach and it makes me feel bilious and sick. I then throw up and feel much better. I think the balloon occasionally just doesnt let the food digest and the only way out is up! I dont think we will become bulemic unless you have a history of it. Having it out on 22 sept and am looking forward to being able to lie on my stomach in comfort again! Its been and excellent tool but wouldnt want it in forever.

xxx Tina
