There is help on the way. You can read some of my other posts to learn what I have been up to. I am looking to contact other JIB patients to contribute to a web site all about the complications of post-JIB patients. The doctors at UCLA will be assisting us to manage the site and provide links to the most up-to-date info on this growing unmet medical need. We are hoping that we can gain statistical data on how many have had the surgery and what complications they face and what has worked and has not. Hi,
I had not looked up anything related to my surgery in years. Now, with so much info readily available via the web, I see that the average lifespan is 55 and liver failure is the mail killer. I just found this out this week and am terrified. I had my surgery 28 years ago and other than the usual complaints, have done well except the roaming arthralgias. I'm thinking of looking into having it reversed....what are your thoughts. Help and info appreciated. You can email me directly at bwolfe1@fairview.org.
