My daughter had the same problem - burps smell like raw sewerage! She had a 5 day course of antibiotics (clarithromycin and amoxicillen) and the problem went away. Our weight loss did slow down after 3 months as well but when we looked back over the full period we found we were still gradually losing 2-4 lb a month - same with any diet I guess. Had the balloon out for 2 months now - put on 1-2 lb - not bad!

I rang the place where i got my balloon fitted and they wont allow me to have any antibiotics. Instead i must eat actimel yogs and take charcoal tablets!!!!!!!!!! Arrrggghhh!

Then i thought i may be able to wing it with the duty doctor, but he wouldnt prescribe without a letter from my hosp. Really pi**ed off.

alcohol

Hi everyone i know this may be a daft question but are you able to drink after having the balloon inserted. I do enjoy a couple of glasses a wine most days and was wo0ndering if you can still stomach alcohol. Thanks for any answers in advance Colette.

You can drink all liquids you want, even with a balloon. Alcohol however is high in calories, therefore drinking it would kind of defeat the purpose of having the balloon.

Hi all,

Just in case it helps anyone else, i sought advice from the hosp about my 'bad burps', and they recommended charcoal tablets and lactobacillus/bifidobacterium (acidophilius) tablets, both from Holland and Barrett. These have made the world of difference, i feel much better now!

retraction

I would like to add that new you international are a reputible and professional clinic helping thousands of people to reach their goal weight .The advice from the staff on the help line is brilliant, helpful and reasurring.Any previous comments i have made have been completely untrue and unfounded.
They offer a fantastic service which of course is at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. I whole heartingly recommend them to anybody seeking a weight loss solution.
good luck to you all x

Smile re gastric ballon positive vibes!

Any one from North West.uk

Interested to know cost of ballon, hoping to go in on a saturday and return to work Monday.
Read some of the feedback, some seem a bit strange in recovery time?

Anyway genuine feedback would be great Thanks Gloria
