My consultant put a seasick patch behind my ear to last for 72hrs, sure that helped.
I did feel like I had just had flu so your body kinda knows what you can eat. I have had fluids for the 3 days, went to the pub for lunch yesterday but only had soup. Have lost 7lbs in 4 days. Had liquidised risotto last night but only a tiny amount. I am just not hungry. I weighed 13st 7lbs and the scales today said 12st 13 7/8 yipee! Can't drink enough water though, so have to sip almost constantly
How r u feeling now?

Balloon Is In

Hi Everyone,

My Balloon was put in on Wednesday...I have had a rough few days to be honest and felt awful. The first 24 hours for the sickness was pretty awful, but the trapped pain was worse. The sickness has eased today, but the pain still there, just trying to breathe through it. I hoping it will pass soon and my my stomach will get used to it
I have just been drinking water since Wednesday, although I did introduce some Melon yesterday and Apple and Blackcurrany Jelly, it's staying down, so far so good.
Anyway I'm due for a weigh in on 25th March, will keep you all posted

Cornishgal x

Hi Guys
I am really struggling with the water. If I drink it, I get heart burn, if i stick to pineapple juice I'm absolutely fine. Now I am watering it down and hoping that helps but I really feel I should be drinking more as I'm struggling in the elimination dept! Haven't lost any more weight but have stayed the same since day 4 at 7lbs down, so I'm still pleased. Lost inches though as I can comfortably wear "thin day" jeans.

fluids

Hiya,
from talking to the nurse at my clinic it seems the water issue for the first few weeks is tricky, u have to drink so much fluids but ur damned if u do and damned if u dont, she did say fresh fruit juice was ok but i suppose its the sugar content thats not great you would probably have to be substituting meals for juice then to balance it out, amazing really if I drank oj on a normal day i would be killed with heartburn i hope when i have mine in the water i drink gallons of daily does not turn on me like that.

Great to know the jeans are slipping on I have a lovely pair at home that would benefit from a half stone loss.

Only 5 more days till my balloon goes in.

Thanks,
hi,

have you had a balloon fitted? can you give us some motivational tips or advice in how to achieve weight management when the balloon is removed after the initial 6 months because nobody in this group wants to fail after paying this much money and going through the various uncomfortable side effects- faith in ourselves is what will get us through the next 6 months along with positive thinking and support from people in the same situation, to err is human and thats all we are but we have to believe this will work for us and take it one step at a time and not think too far ahead for now.

Thanks

Day 6

Well I'm on day 6, after having the Balloon fitted. Its the first day I have felt ok, but have had a rough ride...I weighed myself this morning and I have lost a stone, which is amazing, but I am sure some will go back on as I start introducing proper food again..
Is anyone else at this stage or near to it, would be great to share the experience, as it's so hard..
Thanks
CornishGal x

Hiya

Aww I'm looking to lose about 4 stone, but need to lose 6 to get to my ideal weight. I think my loss has been because I was so sick, I will expect to put some of that back on
Started solids about three days ago, just some melon, strawberries, potatoe etc...(Not together, lol)
Just not hungry at all, well mentally...although my body says I am, so I am trying to listen to that more
Would be great to keep in touch my e-mail address is jo@jcw.me.uk x

there are some people in and out of this forum who have had the balloon removed but not many, I too think of the long term results and weight maintenance, i suppose for those who have just had it and those who are getting it done soon like myself we have to hope that we re-learn our eating habits over the 6 months to make it easier to maintain our weight after the balloon is removed, I have always said that if I lost all my weight then I would keep it off so I hope that will ring true in 6 months. Getting mine in on Saturday at major expense so financially that loan hanging around my neck is a motivator too

your recovery sounds just like mine, awful sickness and pain. thats why I was shocked recently someone on here barely was sick at all after their balloon insertion.

heres my weight loss chart, I lost 9 pounds the first 2 weeks and it never came back on, but I know someone else who lost a lot and put some back on. You have lost a lot the first week so its hard to say if you will keep it all off. The weight loss is much slower after though and can be dissapointing after loosing so much the first few weeks. I look forward to following your journey!
