Soy, would it hinder muscle recovery

What helps with muscle recovery, in my mind is protein.
Soy contains protein... so it shouldn't hinder muscle gain.

I have worked to formulate diets for agricultural animals on a daily basis. In the U.S. almost every animal is fed a corn/soybean diet. Why is this important? Animals are fed for maximum muscle growth. Estrogen does not significantly hinder muscle development. In fact, most, if not all, male animals are castrated in the U.S. Malificent has the 100% right idea. Protein is the major factor here; not the trace amounts of estrogen (which is in a poor bioavailable form anyway.) More precisely it is the amino acids, but for simplicities sake just leave it at protein. Just be sure to eat (or drink in this case) a variety of protein rich foods to nail all the essential amino acids your body needs. No one source is a complete protein. Therefore, to answer your question: No, drinking soymilk will not hinder muscle growth in any measurable way. Not eating adequate protein will.

In unrelated news, your weight loss goal is exactly the same as mine.
284 => 180
The main difference being that I am just starting the journey, and that you have proceeded marvelously thus far!
