Thanks! I'm 5' 6'' or 7'' not sure can never get an accurate measurment :-).
I've always loved workingout, but eventually what I ate caught up with my age and metabolism. I knew if I wanted to lose weight I'd have to completely re-vamp my diet. And that's what I did. I cook most everything i eat and make sure I know exactly what I put in to my body. It really works! Kept the weight off for a year and don't feel deprived or always hungry.

Here is a laundry list of things I did (and continue to do) to make the transformation:
-Exercise at least 4x a week (strength training first and then cardio at least 40 mins).
-Complete diet change:
- Lots of fiber
- Lots of water (10-16 glasses a day)
- Fruits and Veggies
- Whole Wheat bread (double fiber bread is my fav).
-*Always check labels for transfat (if it says it has anything hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated on the ingeredients it has trans fat. Even if the label says 0%, they have tricky ways to get around things like that).
- I try to make each meal balanced by getting at least three categories in every meal (Fruits, veggies, protein, grain, etc.)
- No fastfood for me anymore
- No sodas or high sugar juices (water for me please and the occasional glass of wine ;-).
- Nothing fried
These are some of the basics that I've gone by that have really made a difference. The key is determination and perserverance! Also it is important to note that it takes time. I had 30 lbs to lose and it took me a little under a year to lose it. That may seem long, but the difference between what I do and other diets is mine is actually sustainable. No fad diet, just a healthy lifestyle that I hope to carry throughout my life.
My goal is to one day professionally help others with their weight. A light bulb went on for me and I want to help others reach that light bulb moment :-).

Thanks for the tips. Although it's hard not to eat fast food I think it's one of the major reasons why people gain weight. BTW you great!
