Rep Power: 35 | | | Alii I was listening to the radio the other day, and the announcers were talking about this new drug Alii.
One aspect of it sounds totally repulsive. Apparently, if you eat too much fat, it goes straight through you -- I mean, straight through you -- and creates a smelly, oily mess. YECCHH!
Of course, the manufacturer says that it shouldn't be used to replace a low fat, healthy diet. And, of course, people are using it to do exactly that. In other words, they go to KFC, down a pound of greasy chicken, and then spend an hour on the toilet.
But this sparked my curiosity -- if Alii works by preventing fats from entering your system, does that apply to all fats? If so, couldn't this be a potentially harmful drug. After all, there are some fats that are essential for your health, e.g. fats from olive oil, fish, etc. |

Rep Power: 217 | | | there's a warning from the manufacturer that you should start the drug on a weekend and wear dark pants and perhaps bring a change of underwear to work - now that's a sexy drug. |

Rep Power: 14 | | I once ate some butterfish - a delicious but oily fish. I had been eating low fat for a long time, and my diet doesn't include a great deal of animal fats, so my stomach apparently ignored it, to a similar effect that these pills give.
To be moderately disgusting, it wasn't that I had to run to the toilet, it was just this disgusting leakage all day. Walking with greased buttocks is not an experience I would ever want to have again. |

Rep Power: 87 | | I was interested in it too....i've heard it was 1/2 the strength of presc. pills...but the website said "if you can loose 10 on a diet, you'll loose 15 on Alli" I'm sorry, but the extra 5 pds isn't worth $50! |

Cost an arm and leg, and you have to wear those thick long maternity pads.
The gross thing is, you dont even realize it leaks out until you get off your chair and theres an oil stain on your clothes and chair that will NEVER come out :/
I did find it however really good at encouraging me to eat unoily foods ... i was petrified of eating anything with oil just in case! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Alli Diet Pills Tomble...I almost spit out my coffee reading your post! That is hillarious! Anyway...Alli sounds terrible. I'm going to research this a bit more and post the side effects to my blog, so people are warned!
From what I understand so far, it almost seems like people just end up eating less fat because they don't want "oily discharge". It is similar to a lab experiment where the mice get shocked if they perform the wrong action.
A better idea would be to just not eat as much fatty foods. You don't need a pill to accomplish this!

Rep Power: 0 | | | It's not the side effects that keep me from trying this drug, it's the price. It's cost is pretty stunning to a poor college kid like me. If it were affordable though, I'm afraid I may try it despite the negative effects just out of pure desperation.
I know I'll feel better in the long run for doing it the healthy way, though. |

Rep Power: 10 | | | that link was funny, if a bit overexagerated. i have mentioned before that i have taken xenical in the past and at the time the only thing that stopped me from continuing was the price(got them on the net). didnt get any of the mentioned side effects though i was careful to eat healthily even oily fish on a regular basis.i lost about 21 - 28 lbs before i ran out of motivation, got stressed(my usual problems) and went back to my awful old eating habits.
some people however do think its a miracle pill and you can carry on eating greasy junk and lose the weight. then they wonder why they have side effects and dont lose weight. for someone like me, i found it worked by encouraging me to make better choices and think twice before going on one of my infamous binges slim |

Rep Power: 15 | | | We have tea like that here... A couple varieties. Both I have dubbed "pooping tea" to be polite. In fact a better name would be "OMG What The Hell Just Happened To My Ass!!!!" tea. They have one variety that also is supposed to "harmlessly" pump anything too oily out of you harmlessly, the box does NOT specify explosively. The other tea, which is more popular, pumps EVERYTHING out of you violently. They don't have a warning on either box about such phenonmenon, but in my world it would read "WARNING: Do not use this product if you have a cold, allergies or work in a dusty environment." In other words, don't you DARE cough or sneeze.... EVER! And I mean EVER! WoW!
There is an upside however. Since most places in China still have the good old "squatty potties" using this tea will greatly enhance your quads over time as you will be doing more squats than Steve ever did in the gym.... Mark my words. And you definitely want to squat as LOW as possible. Steve mentioned in other posts it is necessary to put the kneeds past the toes when doing proper deep squats. Trust me, in this situation Steve is 150% correct. The deeper the squat, the better, otherwise (like always happens to a non-fit buddy of mine(poor bastard)) you end up not needing new pants and underwear, but clean shoes and socks..... *sorry for the image*
I wonder if these teas contain similar ingredients.... Perhaps there are just many more of these explosive little goodies out there than I imagined....
In any case, I will stick to eating better and exercising. And now after such vivid descriptions from wishes and others about the "oily" stains and greased butt feeling, I wouldnt try it on a dare....
Thank god it is expensive otherwise the world would be even more filled with greasy bums than it is already.....

Rep Power: 24 | | Alli is the only FDA approved OTC weight loss drug though. Hubby told me about it and we went to Wal-mart to see what it was all about. As soon as I saw that it only allows about 25% fat to go into your system, I knew exactly what it was going to do. Plus it was around $62 or $68 there in the store, with another $13 for the diet book etc.
I will say if Trim Spa w/Ephedra was still on the shelf, I'd buy it and use it. Even if it was because I changed my diet and exercise habits when taking it, I was able to lose weight when I was taking it and I did take it as per the package instructions. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | using it i have actually been using it for the past two weeks. i have not been working out AS much as before but still losing weight at the same rate. what you eat def. determines the side effects. no bad ones for me at all. eat healthy and exercise, its not a miracle drug.
