I'm probably one of the few people left who believe that you can permanently get rid of them...to a high degree at least.

Chemical peels, laser treatment, I think those two are your best options.

If you're okay with just fading them, then Maderma [sp?] works great.

I'm getting some work done at a local dermatologists office next week to try to 'get rid' of mine. I'm going to do intense treatment for six months.

Alright, well...I know I wasn't much help. Just please don't get ripped off by creams that advertise stating they will erase all of your stretchmarks.

Happy turkey day!

I am so skeptical of those creams, but if anyone has used them and they actually worked, I'm all ears! I'm pregnant right now and trying to avoid getting (more of) them, so I'm using Palmer's cocoa butter and Mama Bee's (Burt's Bees) butter. I think this goes along with the cocoa butter train of thought. But in all of the pregnancy magazines I've read, they say there isn't much you can do to prevent or get rid of them. I am definitely taking that tanning lotion advice--but the smell is always so gross!

stretch marks

I have already lost a little bit of weight although it is still a long way to go until I will have reached my perfect weight. But at least I have already dropped a size which is great! But last night before going to bed I realized that I have strech marks. But why? Because I am losing weight? That's quite strange, isn't it?

Stretch marks occur when your layers change. Either dropping weight or building muscle at a semi fast pace. Stretch marks are common with fat loss and you should be proud to have them. Some take time to go away and it really depends on your body to see how long that takes. Overall stretch marks will be a common scene for your weight loss adventure.

I was doing some research on the same topic the other day and here is what I came across; there is this product from Avon and based on the customer reviews it seems to be good; I ordered two tubes and just got my shipment yesterday will begin using this today; hopefully these will do the trick. Here is the link:

I noticed some stretch marks just recently in the mid groin area (between legs). I guess I am lucky they wont be that visible. Even if I had some on my arms I wouldn't care much, just treat them as scars I already have on my body. To me having scars is natural.
