Rep Power: 8 | | | Motivation So a while back I was doing very well, eating a certain ammount of calories, going to the gym 5days a week..yada yada BUT for about the past month and a half, I have just loss all my motivation, which sucks! I feel doomed forever. Some of the girls I use to know, who were way bigger than Iam, have lost LOTS of weight and are skinnier than iam. What get me the most is, if they can do it....how come I cant? Why cant i do this? I want to lose weight so BAD but I feel like I cant... I dont know how much and what food to eat anymore, im giving in to my cravings...
I just need motivation from you guys, because I cant really discuss my weight issue with my friends, because they dont have a problem like I do. I feel like a failure! I know it sounds harsh but I do. I look in the mirror and I cant believe how gross I look. I need help! |

Motivation is one of the most difficult things to come by! People can pat your back and tell you that you can do it, and keep weight/eating/exercising records with you, but when it comes down to it, the want to change has to come from inside of YOU!
Don't think of losing weight as something that you can't do. Think of it as something that takes a little more time for you to accomplish than the person next to you. Everyone takes life at a different pace, and the only right pace is the one that works for you.
So get going back to the gym and don't let the others get you down. If you do want someone to bounce things off of, send me a message once in a while and I'll be glad to chat about things!
Also remember that people may not be as confident with their bodies as you think they are. One of the girls I work out with is PERFECT in my eyes.. but she wants to lose ten pounds. Your friends won't judge you if you talk to them. They may even have a similar goal that you can work towards together. |

Rep Power: 12 | | One order of motivation, coming up! Morning,
Motivation is what helps you keep on going, even when your little voice says, give it up you idjut, it just ain't a'gonna work!!
Motivation always works differently for each person; what might make me stay the steady path might cause others to leap off the bandwagon. So you need to ask yourself, what kinds of motivation would work best for you?
Is it keeping sexy clothing around (like sleeveless karate uniforms)?
Is it going to the gym and realizing you can now handle far more workouts than when you started?
Is it having your friends cheer you on?
Is it having an online forum to cheer you on?
Is it witnessing other people's successes?
What would work best for you?
There's lots of success stories online: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/before-after-between/ Active Low-Carber Forums - Low-Carber Success Gallery Goal! - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community SparkPeople: Success Stories

Remember, you need to define for yourself what works best in keeping you motivated. Keep us posted!

Rep Power: 23 | | Hey. Sorry to hear you are struggling at keeping your motivation up. Some things that usually help me are: coming to this website, and going to the gym and running my @$$ off. I also watch Biggest Loser when it is on once per week.
Losing weight is a process. It's different for everyone. You can't compare yourself to other people because your body is completely different than their's. One day at a time, and the weight will come off. Think of all the marvelous progress you have made so far. I'm not at where I want to be at yet either, and I really wish I was there already. But, I am not. I just have to keep in mind how far I've come so far and it makes me happy to not be at where I used to be...
I notice when I go off my diet and don't exercise for a few days, or weeks I just have to start back up for one day. One solid day of healthy eating and getting to the gym for a really good workout and that is all I need to get started again. Just try to do it again for one day and I bet you can get back on the wagon
take care,
