Question about Body fat meters

Does anyone know the accuracy of a Electric impedance based body fat meter? According to the documentation that comes with it the meter is accurate within a few tenths of a percent. I'm not sure if I should be basing my goal tracking on the aggregate of the two meters I have (I did manage to figure out the scale based one I have only measures lower body fat due to the path of least resistance being from leg to leg).

Anyway, I don't remember what the scale based model is named, but my hand held is an Omron HBF-306. Anyway, just curious if anyone knows the accuracy (it seems to fluctuate when I drink tons of water).

Idon't remember where I read it - or even if the info I got was 100 percent accurate but the article said that the body fat scales. are highly inaccurate.. and really the only truly accurate measure of body fat are the dunk tests where you basically sit nekkid in a pool of water and you're measured that way -not a cheap process or readily available.

I'd keep track of your measurements and use those as a way of meauring how you're doing... Like chest/waist/and whatever else seems appealing
