Rep Power: 8 | | | Bringing Scale on Vacation? So, I have been pondering this thought for a couple days. I haven't been on this site in a month or so, but have been able to maintain. I credit this to having a scale and weighing in every day or two. I have fluctuated up a little, but been able to control it because I noticed when I was gaining.
With that said, I am leaving in a week to go home for the holidays (16 days). I am afraid that if I don't bring my scale with me I may be upset by what I see when I get home.
Any thoughts on this? I feel like it is a little OCD, but I have learned that after losing 15lbs I need to learn how to maintain before I lose more weight.
Any thoughts would be helpful. |

Rep Power: 14 | | honestly, i believe you shouldn't worry about the 16 days, just keep doing what you have been for the first month. Its a good way of showing yourself that you can maintain your weight without constant observation on a scale. After a certain amount of dieting, the number on the scale doesn't even matter, what matters is how you feel when you wake up in the morning. |

Rep Power: 15 | | Depends where you are going... And how big your scale is! Typically, even over here in China, most pharmacies now a-days will have a scale inside somewhere. Be a drag to haul a big clunky scale on vacation to the beach! Worst case scenario go into any department store and "test drive" a scale there ever couple days....
But if you are camping in the middle of nowhere, I suppose it couldnt hurt any to throw one in the trunk to bring with you..
Or you could simply think of it as a real life test of your willpower and dedication. Would feel kind of crappy if you came back and had gained, but wouldn't it feel like a trillion bucks if you came back and found you had lost weight??
Just a thought...

Rep Power: 15 | | | I'm taking mine with me, but that's a personal choice. I'm sure you could find another way to weigh-in if you needed it that badly and didn't want to take yours with you. |

Rep Power: 217 | | | It's more than a little OCD taking it with you... My scale will show a different number depending on where on the floor it is - and most scales tend to do the same thing. so it you throw it iny our suitcase, and take it out at your destination.. you might get an inaccuare reading.
You will know how your clothes are fitting and how you're feeling. You will also know what you are putting in your mouth... that should be enough - the scale isn't a great judge of how you're actually doing weight wise...
