Rep Power: 8 | | Hiphop Abs Has anyone tried this before??
I know you are all gonna say its just a "gimic" or "your wasting your money" but its oly like $45 and at least it keeps you moving! Me and bunch of my friends are all gonna try it for a month and see if anything happens (and eat healthy..blah blah lol)
So what are your thoughts and reviews on this hip hop abs thingy
thanks |

Rep Power: 217 | | honestly, it is probably gimicky, but anything that gets you up and moving and lets you enjoy getting up and moving is worth the money.,.. every person is going to have a different reaction to it...
I'd probably rent it first from netflix to see if I really did want to spend the money - but you could always buy it - then unload it if you didn't like it...
there's probably a disclaimer on the package that the results aren't typical - that you need to follow a healthy diet blah blah blah... so I would keep my expections in check that you probably won't get the abs of a greek god/goddess... but if it gets you up and moving - then don't talk about getting it -get it and do it.. |

Rep Power: 11 | | My mother has the dvd and she loves it. She also has an entire library of exercise dvds as she likes to mix it up when she's getting a workout. I borrowed it from her and it's fun and makes you sweat. It's got a lot of dance moves incorporated in it and the instructer guy is pretty funny. I would say it's worth it for a fun and effective workout, but I don't play in to the whole lose so many inches in so many days stuff. I'm more focused on long term enjoyment of my workout rather then the disappointment they may bring if I don't lose 10 lbs in 3 days or whatever they promise.
Good Luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | I havn't tried hip hop but I have tried belly dancing. And omg there's a good workout that you definitely feel the next day. I know it sounds like it'll only get your abs a workout but it really works everything at once, and difintely is a great cardio workout as well.
Hope you have fun with your hip hop. |

As for hip hop abs, sure, anything that gets you moving is good as long as you stick to it. |

Rep Power: 0 | | | well i don't think its gimic only i don't see why you couldn't do it without the dvd's dancing is a good exercise anyway, the macarina dance started out as a exercise dance. |

Rep Power: 15 | | | Gimmick or not, who cares? Really, what does it matter?
When I think of gimmicks I think of "Take these miracle herbal supplements three times a day and don't diet or exercise and you will lose 20 pounds in a week!" Thats a gimmick.
Anything that gets you up off the couch for 30-40 minutes and gets a good heavy sweat going is worth its weight in gold, gimmick or not.
I personally do Tae Bo, Biggest Loser, Tai Chi, Easy Aerobics and a few other workout videos on a regualr basis, but I like to switch them up depending on the mood. All have value to me because I like them and I am motivated to do them regularly. I am sure many people could also argue the biggest loser exercise video is also a gimmick, playing on the success of the show, but let me tell you for those that haven't done it before, it is a HELL of a workout. I couldn't even do half the routine when I first started and it is still very challenging now. Gimmick or not, it makes me pour sweat and feel every muscle in my body the next day.
I haven't checked out this particular video, but I just might, as I like listening to hip-hop when I run anyways and find it much more motivating than dance/club type music. But trying before you buy is definitely a good idea. Might be good, might not be your cup of tea. But if it works for you and makes you sweat, thats a much better "gimmick" than taking miracle pills and looking for the easy out.
