Rep Power: 217 | | Why would you be afraid to complain? Are they going to send the walmart greeter to your house and beat you senseless?
you're the customer... if you're not getting service you expect, you shouldn't keep it to yourself - let the company know how you feel. How is the store to know there's a problem, unless you speak up.
And sometimes complaining just brings comic relief - I wrote an email to a certain big name company saying I wouldn't buy any of their products as long as they used a current chemical I refuse to eat in said products... I got a letter back basicallg saying thanks but go suck eggs and they'd be sending me coupons for my trouble |

Then as I walked by the "normal sizes" I noticed racks and racks full of colourful, pretty exercise clothes, and I'm just thinking, come on!!! Do they just assume fatties will never exercise so they don't need exercise clothes? If anything there should be more exercise clothes there than anywhere else in the store!!!
I think it's ridiculous that it's like that. What kind of statement, and assumptions are they making about us overweight people? My goodness! | I'm with ya!
I have been able to find the work-out pants/shorts in plus size at Target..
No tops though anywhere.. GRRR... So, I just go to the men's section at Target and get the cheap Jerzee brand for $5..
They are plain/solid colors.
Sometimes they will be out of my size in the work out shorts and pants so I just get everything from the men's section..lol..
Heck, I find their work-out clothes more comfy anyway and they provide an assortment of colors. Plus, I always find the size I need! |

Rep Power: 7 | | Maybe they expect the plus-sized people of this world, who are looking to lose weight, to work out NAKED until they can get into "normal sizes"? Actually, maybe plus-sized people should do just that- the clothing companies probably would finally get the message. |

Rep Power: 13 | | | XD Well, I've actually been considering sending them a letter. I'm a very opinionated person, and will tell off just about anyone if they work me up enough. ( there's pros and cons to this).
Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
I also have my mom looking out for some at thrift stores (I'm really not picky, if it's been washed, I don't care who has worn it ((so long as it's not underwear or bathing suits))). |

(google how to write a complaint letter and you should get some ideas) but... from my own complaining experience it's best to be specific in your complaints... tell them you're a regular shopper and you're disappointed to the point where you are no longer a satisfied customer in that there is no choice with the plus size garments... be as specific as possible in your expectations... that you expect a reasonable assortment of plus size active wear at a reasonable price...
Find out the name of the store manager, make sure it's spelled correctly when you mail the letter, and copy Walmart customer service in the corporate office as well... |

Rep Power: 6 | | Yes I agree.. i have never found any work out clothing for us plus size women at Walmart, and the last time i was there i asked if there was anything, the lady tld me all they have is the strechy pants and i could get a plain teeshirt.. umm yea thanks. the pants were like DRESS pants just without a zipper. I'll be happy to work out in that.. ha!
So i dont go to walmart.
Target does have a good amount of plus size work out clothing, so that's where i go. although the woman's pants only have a small back pocket. the mens have 2 pockets for the active wear... so yea i wear men's |

Even though i dont go there anymore for workout clothing, it would be nice to have better plus size clothing period. We should have everyone write a letter... power in numbs??

Rep Power: 35 | | | Just thought I would put my .02 in on this.
A good friend of mine moved to Canada 2 years ago from the States. Her hubby was relocated for his job.
She too complains about the quailty and selection that they have at the Walmarts in Canada.
In fact she won't buy anything from them. I don't blame her.
As for finding plus size workout clothing, did you happen to stop and look at the sizes on any of the pretty colorful stuff? Cuz' my store puts all the sizes together in one area of the store. For the Womens workout stuff that is. And that is exactly where I found my stuff. XXL. But it was in the regular sized section.
I don't want to wear colorful pants so chose the black and the grey. However they had lots of colorful workout tanks. And plenty of them were XXL. I do know that they tend to put things out waaaaay ahead of schedule as far as seasons go. So our workout stuff was put out in December for all the New Year's Resolutions. And if you wait then the size selection does kinda dwindle down.
As far as writing a letter I say go for it. Thou I do agree with Mal in that you do it the right way.
On the whole I don't have any gripes against Wallyworld. Though I do agree that lots of times there selections of clothes for bigger girls is just plain ugly. But usually that is not Walmarts fault but the dictacts of what society thinks is in style that particle season. Some seasons we get lucky that the styles look good on us and other seasons there is no way that I would be caught dead in them. |

Rep Power: 8 | | | Yeah, trying to find workout clothing is a bit harder when you are plus size. It hasn't been that hard for me (thankfully) because for being 250 lbs, I fit into an XL perfectly.
I know that stores like Target and Wal Mart sell clothing based on the people who live around them. For Example:
I've noticed that if I go to a Wal Mart in Chandler, AZ that the plus size section is really tiny compaired to the Wal Mart in Casa Grande, AZ. It's mainly due to the people in that Area. Casa Grande is near a reservation and most of the Native's that I know are plus size, so their plus size selection is way bigger than normal. However, in Chandler, there are a lot more Slender people and some older ones, so their plus size selection isn't quite as big and their Womens section cater to the older crowd.
Oh, and clothing made in Mexico, I've found to be a size bigger than the size on the tag. So, if it's an XL and Made in Mexico, and you wear a XXL... try it on anyway. |

Rep Power: 25 | | My issue with Walmart clothes is that they now seem to be made incredibly poorly - very flimsy, cheap material, etc. It galls me to pay *new* prices for things that should be at least as inexpensive as those bought at a thrift store!
cheers
