I think it may also depend on the situation. Is it lack of motivation or energy. Sometimes I just look at my bike and just dread my next workout, but everytime I finish, I am glad that I did it. I personally have a fear of missing a workout as I might get into a bad habit. Just look in the mirror, smile at the the actual improvements and more importantly what brought those improvements. Just hang in there your doing a great job, and if I read your ticker right your more than halfway towards your goal. Just keep it going, your gonna make it, and you have many people on this forum that are either in the same boat or have been at one time or another, yet they are still fighting the fight.

good luck

I just look at pictures from what I used to look like...And if you haven't lost any weight yet, take a picture of yourself now and look at it for motivation, works for me...

also, be careful with your words...Or you might just bring the pissed off wrath of Cycling101 lol

Pace yourself with your exercising...

Sounds like you fall into the overdo -then not do that a lot of people go thru...

Schedule the time to exercise for 30- 45 minutes a day and check if off on the calendar when you do - after a certain amount of checks -give yourself a reward...

Personally I am motivated by the changes in me. I also do not want to lose this fight, I hate losing and am very competitive.

Motivation needs to come from you. If it takes rewards or whatever you need- only you can get you to do it.

Good luck.

Try to do something active that is more fun then exercise. I went mountain biking today instead of going to the gym. I didn't kill it, but I was exercising for 50 min without a break. After the leg workout I did last night, I was really feeling it, but it was good to do something for fun. Other ideas are rollerblading, if you are near a beach, go for a run/walk in the sand. The added resistance will tire you out but not seem like a chore. Also you can look at the ocean and think of how great you'll look this summer.

I know exactly how you feel! I always seem to come up with an excuse to not exercise. I can control what I eat but I HATE actually having to get up and go on the eliptical for an hour or so. I just have to force myself to do it, once I do exercise I feel amazing and accomplished.

Put your workouts in your schedule and treat them as something that you absolutely have to do. If you know you have to do something else during your regular workout time, reschedule your workout. Just make sure to fit it in somewhere.

Try to find a workout that you really enjoy. Mix things up, you don't have to do the same thing everyday.

You really have to want it though! Losing weight is going to take effort and you are the only person who can do it. I like to read weight loss blogs to motivate myself and also just focus on how good I feel after I work out.
