Rep Power: 0 | | | Which Type of Dieter Are You? This poll is only for those who have attempted to lose weight before.
If either of these apply to you, what is your weight loss background?
A) I have reached my weight loss goal in the past, but then gained weight back
B) I have always given up my program and never reached my weight loss goal
Thanks

Rep Power: 357932 | | | what's the point of this question? Are you doing a research paper?
my own answer
none of the above
I don't diet anymore....
I'm not on a program so there's nothign to give up it's alifestyle change that will allow me to get to a goal weight and a goal fitness level... but since it's not hard to follow or depriving me of anyhting -there's nothing to give up

Rep Power: 0 | | | This is actually a poll about how you were in the past... Yes it's for research. |

(I did the research track as a psych major in my first pass at school. You may as well be asking a Magic 8 Ball - it'll give you results every bit as valid.)

Rep Power: 2873 | | | For the last 3 years I've been extreme yo-yo dieting. I find that it isn't that difficult for me to lose weight; I just end up gaining it all back quite quickly. March of 07 I weighed 200lbs and by July 4th 07 I weighed exactly 160. Now I weigh 225lbs. Last summer I turned 21 and went to Vegas for a week and it was all down hill after that. So, basically I've gained 65lbs in less than a year. The previous year I did something similar after getting laid off and getting out of my gym routine. I've only been dieting again for the last 5 days but I know when I'm going to stick to my diet and this is one of those times. I'm hoping to be back down to 160lbs by Christmas and will hopefully STAY that low and eventually get to my goal weight of about 145. All this fluctuation isn't healthy at all and I'm sick of buying new clothes! |

Rep Power: 357932 | | | so with 8 posts it'snot like you've chosen to join this community - are you just here to gather research? if it's not for school -what's it for?

Rep Power: 32708 | | | So both answers refer to failure... that's a little stupid. I never reached a goal in the past and FAILED to keep myself at that weight. I've never FAILED to stay on a program in the past, therefore never reaching my goal.
This is the first time I've attempted to lose weight. I ate what my parents fed me when I was growing up and had always been overweight. It's very difficult to change the very ways that you think about food.
Anyway, people who are overweight are not failures as your completely ignorant poll implies.

Rep Power: 65767 | | | This is my first attempt to lose weight- so neither...
If this poll is not for school then what is it for?
I really think the community deserves an answer to this....

Rep Power: 14873 | | I wouldn't say either really applies to me either even though I have lost weight in the past and am now heavier. I never had a goal weight before because I was never really overweight until fairly recently. I just lost and gained depending on whether it was a sport season or I had the cash to blow on beer for a few months. My only other real weight loss journey was cut short by surgery in January. It's taken me the last 6 months to get rededicated. |

Rep Power: 405476 | | | I failed at previous attempts, but once I made a decision to really lose the weight, I have been pretty successful. I have been losing slowly for 1.5yrs, and taken off 61lbs. I have not gained it back and know that I never will.
