Not everyone was ugly to me...most people weren't, but plenty were. It was an almost daily occurence; it got to the point where I could fake a good enough English accent to be left alone if I was in a hurry.

The cost of living is ridiculous right now, I can barely afford my gym membership on top of everything else. People are seriously struggling. It doesn't help either when the papers release statistics such as 'The average Brit would survive 11 days on their savings until claiming themselves bankrupt'
What a morale booster!!!
I remember how shocked my co-workers were when they found out I didn't have an overdraft. I just went without in order to save and my ex and I made decent money and split the bills, but it was still hard to save.

That's ridiculous but totally doesn't surprise me either!!! The rules some people have to abide by are so pointless. My cousin is training to be a nurse and she had a placement in a mental health hospital. She was allowed to wear her own clothes instead of a uniform and she had on a completely conservative summer dress. She got told off because her hem was too 'frilly' and might get caught in the door and she could injure herself.
Shocking!
LOL, that's a good one. I haven't heard one that ridiculous in a while!

Yep, that's what we get for building with bricks!!!!!
Today has been absolutely ridiculous I've not needed to leave the house so I had on a very thin strapless dress and was STILL boiling hot.
My fan is going at full speed and barely even moving the air. Sucks.
Although I seriously doubt it'll last more than a week haha!!!
True; our boiling heat is constant in summertime, yours isn't. At least in England you know there's relief just around the corner. It usually doesn't last more than a couple of weeks.

I've JUST finally managed to get my account to £0.00 after almost 4 years!
That's only because I had jury service and got a bit of extra cash!
I have no idea how I'd have done it otherwise!

Our 4 day heatwave ended last night with an incredible storm!
The lightning was RIGHT ABOVE OUR HOUSE! Lit my entire room white and sounded like a gunshot. Closest I've ever been to a storm in my life!!!

I wear capris, and a t-shirt.

Even when I'm thin I'll wear carpis. I have scarring on my leg that I am not proud of.

We've got nothing but highs of 100+ for the next week (at least). They had a hurricane in south Texas but it didn't make it up to us.

The bank LOVED me when I went in to close it off, I guess any spare money they can get they're thrilled with right now!

We have air conditioning so it's not so bad. We kind of live indoors this time of year.

Remember that huge heat wave that hit the UK in 2003 (I think it was '03)? The temperature in York got up to almost 99F and we had no AC; a friend of mine had a baby at an NHS hospital with NO AC on the hottest day in recorded history in Britain...it was crazy.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat! NO AC!! Yes I remember that! I felt VERY sorry for the pregnant ladies then! They must have been burning up!
We just have nothing in place for warm weather the only place I know with AC is the cinema!!

I wear halter and baby doll dresses all summer long. In Alabama Summer is May to October, basically. Seems to get longer every year. I work in a theatre department and it's quiet in summers so I can be pretty casual. So, now that I'm a chub I wear the more cottony, breezy sundresses for leisure, too. Even if I could get into my jeans I wouldn't want them this time of year. That's what I tell myself, anyway, lol.

And I long ago stopped worrying about my pale skin and floppy upper arms. I used to wear panty hose in summer until I finally said, "What thuh?" and decided I didn't care what the students thought of my banged up knees (I am a medalist in the Spaz Olympics.) Perhaps that's a perk of hitting my forties. I became an "I don't care bear" when it comes to those little body issues. Still won't wear a bikini though. For the sake of others, lol.
