Rep Power: 4 | | | Swimming causing increased appetite I was unsure if this was a exercise or nutrition based question so I just decided to post in On Topic. I eat 5x daily with 3 smaller meals and 2 larger snacks. I have recently had to change my exercise routine from a lot of walking/running to swimming. In terms of energy expenditure from exercise I believe I am actually using LESS energy daily however my appetite has shot through the roof. I am finding myself hungry 2 hours after eating a meal a day after swimming.
Does anyone have any experience or information on this topic? The only thing I can think of is that I have a higher intensity workout over a smaller time period. |

Rep Power: 14 | | | I honestly have no concrete answer for you, but I know swimmers eat more. I'm not entirely sure as to why. So I'd say it's normal, but I can't really give an answer. Sorry! |

Rep Power: 13 | | The change in body temperature causes your appetite to increase.
No, you are not necerssarily burning more calories, its just what happens when you swim.
Try taking a hot shower afterwards, that might help. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
