The author of the book you mention, Tom Venuto, is actually a friend of mine. I'm currently interviewing him for my blog.
So ya, I've heard of it. I've read it. I've recommended it.
Tom's views have changed a bit since writing that. As has most anyone's who is in this industry and is worth a damn. Science reveals more each day.
Tom still, from what I know, recommends small frequent feedings but not for some magical metabolic effect. In his experience, smaller frequent feedings leads to great satiety and adherence. I tend to agree. It just can't be blanketly applied to everyone.
You might want to check out Tom's new book, The Body Fat Solution.

No way ... Steve, Tom's "Burn the Fat" was the first "diet" book I ever got. It's a good read. I didn't know he had a new book out.
He's hot ...
I'm not

Tom is a stud. I'd consider Tom a friend of mine. We've been communicating for a number of years, I have his cell, personal email address, all that jazz. I've yet to meet him in person though I imagine it's in the cards.
I'm looking forward to our interview, which is going to take longer than forever due to both of our schedules. We've been on question number 1 for months, lol.
Maureen, you wouldn't get much out of his new book from what I know of you. He really geared it to the novice. It's great in that aspect though.

Hey. Well that blows my sudden fear out the window. You see, I work in a pub, so sometimes don't eat for 6/7 hours at a time. Though I always eat afterwards and make sure I don't "overeat". I'll tend to eat something else a little later if I need to.
Sometimes, when you have a bunch of thirsty/hungry people at the bar, you just don't get the opportunity to waltz out the back for a bite of anything.
So, yay, I don't need to stress too much. Right? I mean, unless I completely misread that. I mean, I am careful with portion size, and sometimes I do get to snack on something 'out the back'. I just can't rely on it.
Ok, I'm blabbering now.
Thanks!

Nope, I wouldn't concern yourself to any degree. If your calories and macros are in check and you're making sensible food choices, that's what matters.

Thanks a lot for this post. I'm used to eat three times a day and I was always recommended to do so by my coach. I'm so glad to know I had a good leader helping me! Thanks doctor Heber!
