But I'm certain the nitric oxide supplements have an entirely different delivery system that takes it directly to the skeletal muscles to give you an incredible pump.
Interesting that the guy that brought Creatine mainstream to the market is also the guy that supposedly created the new Nitric Oxide supplements. Quote:

But it's interesting that one of the most popular supplements in this category is called NO-Xplode.
The pump you get from this stuff is amazing. Your muscles literally feel like they're going to explode.
Especially if you take it on your non training days also. It's like Viagra for your muscles. Your biceps have a permanent hard on.
At least that's been my experience. I waded through all the advertising BS best I could and settled on a product from Gaspari Nutrition.
Never regretted buying it for a moment. Stuff's been amazing. |

Rep Power: 0 | | No having a cup of coffee doesnt keep him up at night. It's strange. It keeps him awake during the day and not at night. |

Rep Power: 15 | | | been thinkin i've been thinking about trying that NO XPLODE but the reviews i've been seeing are mixed, some people just love it and cant stop saying how great it is, and then others say it works alot of the time, but then sometimes they feel like they're going to die for a while..lol, and since I do primarilly cardio and not a ton of weights at the moment i didn't know if that would be a good idea or not... |

Rep Power: 8 | | I'd be curious about a clarification myself.
I can see where taking the supplement with weight training might have benefit, though a number of studies say otherwise. Nobel Prize
"Discovering how NO works in our bodies is an exciting, important chapter in the history of cardiovascular medicine. In 1998, the Nobel Prize was awarded to three Americans for their independent discoveries concerning NO as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system, one that produces another substance known as a second messenger. Second messengers help in some way to carry a message from the outside of the cell to the inside. Faulty Extrapolation?
Supplement manufacturers and many bodybuilders have taken that fact to a theoretical level unsupported by medical research. The theory is that supplementation creates and sustains levels of NO in the skeletal muscles—levels that are assumed to enhance oxygen delivery, glucose uptake, muscle velocity, and muscle growth."
All I can say is, I've had good results with the stuff I've been using with weights.
But taking this supplement with cardio is an entirely different ballgame and not recommended. Someone explains why on Yahoo Answers: "You should not take NO Xplode before a cardio workout. Here is why...NO Xplode was engineered for the purpose of increasing muscular vascularity while you work out anaerobically. In a nutshell, this means that it opens up the blood vessels to increase blood flow to the muscles being worked while lifting weights. The more blood that stays in the muscle being worked, the more endurance that muscle will have. NO Xplode was engineered to create a maximum workout experience when hitting the weights.
That being said, by increasing your muscular vascularity, the blood tends to stay in the muscle. This is good for weight workouts but terrible for aerobic workouts. Aerobic workouts cause your heart rate to increase. Your heart rate increases because your body needs more oxygen to function at a higher stress level. Your heart beats faster to carry more oxygen to the rest of your body. If NO Xplode is in the system, the blood will want to stay in the muscles rather than improve overall circulation. When on NO Xplode, the heart speeds up but pumps less blood. The result can be hypotension or low blood pressure. This can result in blurred vision, fatigue, dizziness, confusion, and loss of consciousness (fainting)."
That makes a lot of sense to me.

Rep Power: 15 | | sry about the vague response, i meant it's ridiculous how good it works...i took it (only one scoop) about 30 minutes before lifting, went to the gym and ran a couple miles, then began my weight training, now i'm pretty skeptical sometimes that people feel a certain way when they take a product just because they've been told they're going to feel that way, and this might be the case here...but i've never felt more focused while lifting, i just didn't want to leave or stop, and the "pump" that you get from lifting sometimes was there after 1st set and stayed with me throughout the hour...scary that something could make me feel like that...even scarier that i kinda liked it. |

Rep Power: 15 | | and doc i read that excerpt from yahoo answers yesterday before taking it, that's why i only did a quick warm up run before the "stuff" was supposed to take maximum affect. I won't be doing any heavy cardio while using it. |

Take it on your non training days and your biceps have a permanent hard on.
Some people get an effect from it, and it seems some don't. Looks like you're the type that does!
Don't worry, the stuff isn't addictive. It's a natural compound in your body. |
