Rep Power: 33 | | I don't celebreate Easter, which makes things very easy. And nobody in my family makes easter dinners or whatever, so that's not a problem either. Apart from that, they can't cook anyway....*lol* |

Rep Power: 7 | | | My problem is I LOVE CANDY!
I love it. It's one of the best things in the world, to me. Oh, and there's no moderation when it comes to candy, it's all or none.
I'm usually pretty good about it. I have candy from my birthday 2 years ago sitting around my house. Candy from past Christmases, even. I know, it's kind of gross...but to me, no candy is too old to eat.
I should get rid of it all, but I feel bad because it was a gift, hahahaha |

Granted I know you can make Easter Sunday your cheat day. But with all that food available how are you going to stop yourself from over doing it? Espically when Aunt Bea puts on the guilt trip cause you won't try here 1000 calorie, 90 gram fat ( insert dessert name here) dessert.
How do you get thru Easter dinner without pissing off the person/people that "SLAVED OVER THE STOVE ALL DAY TO COOK YOU THIS MEAL" and still keep within your limits? | I am still polite, but it is THEIR problem if they get all pissed off. (I can't please everyone, as I've tried doing in the past)
I have seen other family members who were dieting/trying to eat better, and only taking smaller portions, or no-thanking dessert. They still commented on the great plate of food.
One could always ask to take some home with them because of all the awesomeness!!! (It could be your meal the day after)
I guess it all depends on the family, and yourself for that matter. I know this may be easier said than done, but I think it is rude of them to try to single someone out and force something on them. If a person has said no thank you, than that's that.
I hope your family dinner Rocks!! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I'm hosting Easter at my house this year and it's going to be soooo hard. I'm making a ham and potato salad. I'll eat some of the ham but I'm going to try and stay clear of the potato salad. My mother in law is bringing gumbo. I GOTTA have some of that. She makes the best gumbo. I'll just have to have some without rice. My friend is bringing jambalaya. That's gonna be the hard one. There is just no way to make that healthy. Then we have baked macaroni and string bean casserole, chips and dip. All that yummy badness. I'll do my best! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
