Overall in the week tho you will loose weight. The difference from day to day can't really be quantified easily.
If it works for you tho you should do it!
I prefer not to weigh myself. I weighed myself once when i began and will do it again in about 1-2 months.Plus i don't have a scale so that may explain it |

Rep Power: 0 | | My weight certainly fluctuates during the course of the week, that is for sure. But I still feel the need to monitor myself very closely. So far it is working out.
Another pound gone, by the way |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Scales? I have two scales in my house which give two very different readings. Sometimes they are match but sometimes they are as much as 7 pounds off! Anyone know anyway to test the scales? I want an accurate reading, and a 7lb difference is a bit much. Any advice would be great. |

Rep Power: 16 | | | scales It is hard to get good accurate scales for your home. They are delicate instruments that must be tested and calibrated in order to perform consistently.
First, you need to pick just one scale and stick with it for all your measurements. Home scales are seldom dead on accurate, so using a single scale will give you better results than using two different scales.
Second, pick a hard, level surface where you are going to place the scale and leave it there. Do not move it. Moving a scale can cause it to change calibration and you don't want that.
Third, weigh yourself on it three times in a row. Step on, step off. Wait until the dial stops moving, then step on and step off. And again. Do you get the same measurement all three times? If not, there is a problem. It might be that you are placing your feet in different positions, or leaning forward or back. Your weight must be centered over the scale to produce a consistent result.
Finally, try weighing yourself alone, and then again holding an object of known weight, like a bowling ball or a full bag of cat food. Repeat this for three results, like you did above. Did you get a consistent result, and did the higher weight actually equal your weight plus the known weight of the object you were holding?
If these tests provide widely varying results on your scales, try reading the instruction manual for help in calibrating the scale. If you still have problems, you might call the manufacturer or get a new scale altogether. Good luck! |

Rep Power: 0 | | | I've also heard that the heavier the scale itself is, the more accurate the readings are.. but I'm not quite sure. I'm also looking for an accurate scale myself too, my scale at home gives me different readings everytime I step on to it :S |

Rep Power: 41 | | | should you end up replacing them id go with a digital scale. In a perfect world they zero out and reset every time they are used. The drawback is most of them use batteries instead of plugging into the outlet. prob designed by the battery companies. Its a conspiracy lol..... |

Rep Power: 0 | | I have a digital scale... its Body Fit by brand, its a glass scale and has sensorDisc Multi-load technology for superior accuracy. According to several people I have talked to this is a really good scale, and only varies by a little bit. It cost me around $50 but I love it. It has options for lbs or kgs.
But.. when I weigh myself I do it on a hard floore.. and I put it in the exact same spot every time. I find thats important. I also usually weigh in the morning or late at night... never during the day. |

Rep Power: 0 | | My husband has a weight set, and one of the weights is exactly 10 lbs. So I put it on the scale by it's self and adjust the dial until it reads 10 lbs.
When there is nothing on my scale it reads 4lbs as opposed to zero, but when I go for my weigh in it's dead on accurate to the doctors scales.
So I guess basically the same idea as weighing yourself with something of a known weight, but without yourself first
Plus that way whenever my 2 year old son plays jump up and down on the scale and knocks it out by a few lbs I just get the old 10lb weight out and start again. |

Rep Power: 217 | | | i think it all depends on your budgetr... Tanita makes a good one...but it can be alittle pricey...
as long as you are weighing yourself on the same scale regularly, thatis what matters... it's rare that you will find two scales thatgive you the same weight...
Just weigh your self the same day of the week, at the same time, wearing the same thing (or lack thereof) to see what you are losing |

Rep Power: 0 | | one day my sister and i were messing around in walmart and we weighed ourselves on all the scales haha.. well my advice is not to get a cheap digital scale, it was outrageous how different the weight results were on all the different digitals. id suggest one of the old fashion ones i dont know what u call them.. with the spinny haha |

Rep Power: 0 | | | Every scale I buy is wrong, so I've given up! My mom's matches the doctors perfectly. So, I weigh myself when I go there. I don't know how she got so lucky with a great scale. It was a cheap one too! I spent 30 bucks on mine (all 5 that i've gone through and thrown away because I thought they were wrong). I guess just weigh yourself on the same one to keep track of what your losing. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
