Maintence Caloric Intake Question

I am male 25 years old 6 foot 0 and 317 lbs.
That would make my maintence 3381? And to lose weight i deduct 30% from that?
I have been eating between 1400 and 1800. Just want to know if I'm doing it wrong... Thanks.

At 317 lbs, I come up with 4755 calories to maintain. That's based on a figure of 15 calories per pound of body weight.

30% less is 3328 calories.

Where did you get 1600 calories? That's ridiculously low for someone of your weight. *I* eat 1600 calories to lose, and I'm a 5'4" woman who weighs 168 lbs.

There are a lot of things you can do to add calories at that level.

Try some almonds, olive oil based dressings, avocado, mayonnaise (real mayo, not the chemical laden "light" version), full fat dairy, things like that. You can add some sugar and fruits as well to raise calories.

The thing is, if you lower your calories too much, you can actually stall out your weight loss.
