Vitamin Question

I have started taking "ONE A DAY womans vitamins" ...but I dont feel any different, no extra energy from them. I'll take it one day, forget the next, but feel no difference in energy between the two days...what gives?

If you're not already vitamin deficient, you're probably not going to notice any massive energy rush or anything.

Also, some vitamins are cumulative and some are not. So really the difference between one day and the next is probably going to be minimal - kinda like how the cake you eat for dessert doesn't show up on the scale the very next day.

well, that maybe be true? I thought that there was no cumulative vitamins though?? Also, i'm thrown off by the fact that I eat, um, well, nothing healthy, for the most part, although I am doing better, lol So, i thought i'd for sure have some kind of vitamin deficiency?? i dunno...

Some vitamins are water soluble and some are fat soluble. Water soluble vitamins need to be replaced every day since they're excreted from the body. Fat soluble ones stay in the body for a period of time and can build.

As far as I can remember all B vitamins and vitamin C are water soluble. Vitamins A, D, E, and K (I think) are fat soluble and are stored in your body over time. These are the vitamins that it *is* possible to overdose on.

Edited: I just did a quick search and Wikipedia has a good chart of water soluble vs. fat soluble vitamins. Scroll down to the chart at the bottom here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin
