Something for breakfast?

I get up at 7:45. I have to be to work at 9. I'm literally about 3-5 minutes away depending on traffic. I have coffee in the morning. I have cut myself to just that one mug in the morning and no more caffeine at all through the day for about 4 years now, I couldn't sleep. My problem is that I can't eat when I first get up. I can't eat till about 10am. I need something quick and fast I can take to work with me. I don't have a lot of time to eat at work...very, very busy job, physical and mental. Any ideas for something filling that isn't going to add a ton of calories or weigh
me down?

Thank you

What I've been doing is using my juicer and mixing in some green leafy vegetables and a few pieces of fruit. I find that since I've started this I've felt better and had more energy. If your not into juice thats ok the key from what I read is you just need to find something to get into your system in the morning to help jump start your resting metabolism.

i think either or not you want to breakfast, you should because its consider as the most important meal of the day... something small is good such as a piece of fruit, something with milk like cereals, egg whites (very little calories for a lot of protein), toast with cottage cheese, omelet..

I generally like breakfast, so my experience might not apply. But I know on those mornings I don't feel like eating, I can always drink a fruit smoothie--yogurt, banana, berries, maybe some tofu, whatever looks good to throw in the blender.

In terms of something to take with you, would a few nuts and a couple pieces of dried fruit work? Small, not messy, doesn't take any utensils to eat. Have to be careful, of course, because both nuts and dried fruit are calorie-dense, but as long as the portion is small it's healthy food.

I get some dry roasted edamame (soy beans) and snack on them. They have fiber, protein and fat in an easily portable package. Not the greatest tasting, but they're really convenient. Almonds work too.

String cheese + an apple is also very easy. So's Greek yogurt with fruit.
