Rep Power: 0 | | Im 5'11" and currently weigh 304lbs. My measured lean body mass is 200lbs. I would like to be somewhere around 220 - 230 lbs. I have a large bone structure and decent muscle mass. |

Rep Power: 33 | | I'm 5"11, with an extremely heavy bone structure - yes, I know, that's what they all say, but I actually had it confirmed by more than one doctor.
According to my BMI, I should be between 136 and 179 lbs. According to my doctor and a dietitian I recently talked to, at 136 I would be nearly 60 pound underweight, and would have to lose serious amounts of muscle-mass to get to that weight.
So that's nonsense.
The other measuring things put me at around 150 lbs, which is just as bad. After being measured, tested, poked and prodded, my doc and my dietitian both agreed that my goal of 200 lbs is very realistic and should provide me with very good results, both health and looks wise.
So all I can say is....forget about BMI and all that other nonsense. None of the calculators or formulas I've seen so far takes your bone structure or any other factors into account, so the only things you can really go by is how you feel, and if you like what you see in the mirror. If you feel okay, and look okay, then it really doesn't matter what the BMI or your scales say. If anything, check your body fat on top of that...that seems to be the only half-way accurate measurement out of the whole bunch. |

| | | I would say NO. It all depends on your frame, sex, height, whether your big boned or small boned, Muscle Mass, ect...
I am 6' and 160 for me is OVER WEIGHT. 162 was my biggest. So 160 lbs is NOT my ideal weight. YIKES!
My ideal weight is around 125-135 lbs. |

Rep Power: 3 | | Just curious... what if you weren't over 5' tall... are you supposed to take 5 pounds off for every inch under 5' you are? lol.
I'm 5'9'' so going by that I should weigh 145... that's a little low for me. My goal weight it 165... |

Rep Power: 7 | | I think you should go on how you look, your muscle and body fat. Also there are other things to take into consideration like sex and even race. Some people, particularly Indigenous people are supposed to be very slim, possibly underweight on some measurements. But in modern society we have to accept a totally different ideal of what slim is. What some people consider to be slim might be very different to what another person thinks. |

Rep Power: 7 | | According to the +5 lbs per inch over 5' rule, I should be 130-135 lbs, which is exactly what I'm going for. I'm probably more shooting for 130 lbs, which means 16 more to lose for me. |

My ideal weight is around 125-135 lbs. | I don't know if you've ever checked into what your BMI is and would be. But 160 is in the normal weight range for your height. Going all the way down to 130 would put you underweight. |

I have also been told that BMI is a load of gobbleDee Gook. 160 may be the normal weight range for a man's height whom is 6', but with all of those things that I've previously stated. I don't think you should worry about me anewaj, you don't know me personally and if you'd like to see what 155 lbs looks like on my height as a smaller boned, small framed female, with no boobs have yourself a look; This was not even my biggest, biggest being 162 lbs. No, I would not be underweight.
I am over weight now too at 150 lbs. When I was 130 lbs my Doctor had no worries nor complaints, I am just tall and lanky.
I know it is truly difficult for people to understand, but it is what it is & thanks for your concern.

I think you look great in that pic, a hell of a lot better then I do! My goal weight is 160... and I'm a lot shorter then you, but I'm also larger framed.
I hope you do reach your goal weight. I just, i get overly concerned for people from time to time. (I lose my best friend to Bulimia 3 years ago, and so Idk... i guess I... idk how to explain it.) 130 on a 6' frame to me sound like, whoa... skinny mini. But I can see that weight fitting your body frame. |
